Another group in harms way I think we need to keep in our thoughts...

I just was thinking about this as I was home for lunch just a bit ago. We pray for our safety, the safety of our soldiers that are over in combat now but I have not seen anything about praying for and keeping the many journalists in our minds and thoughts. They are doing this so that we can have updates and see what is going on - they are putting themselves in great great danger - sometimes we get very mad and upset with them but....putting that aside - we need to also think about them, keep them in our thoughts and prayers. I appreciate the information that I am able to receive from them - seeing the fear in their faces this morning just was very hard.

We have a local journalist embedded with our Marines. The journalist was a Marine for 20 years as a photo/journalist. He retired and went to work for our local newspaper. When our unit was deployed, he put a request to join them. Speaking as a parent - it's AWESOME to have him there!!! He has updates in our local paper 3-4 times per week with photos of our loved ones.

The most touching part of this is the fact that it was his choice to join them - even though he found out a week before he left that his wife is pregant.

He and his wife have been added to our family's prayer list!

In addition to the journalists, there are American civilians working in various Middle Eastern countries who might become targets for retribution.
