Another Eurostar question :)

I still haven't decided whether to drive to the Eurostar or get the train.

If I get the train, we arrive at St Pancras (from DLP) at 21.30 and my connection would be leaving St Pancras at 22.00 - is this too tight?

Also does anyone know what would happen if we booked this advance ticket and the Eurostar was delayed so we missed the connection?? Could we still use the ticket for the next train or would I need to buy a new one?

We're booked to board/disembark the train at Ashford (booked directly through DLP) would there be an issue if we wanted to get on/off at St Pancras instead?

I think it all depends on what time the next train is and what the T&C for your advance ticket are. If they allow you to catch a later train without penalty then I'd go for it, providing the later train isn't something like 4 hours later! Out of 3 homeward journeys on the Eurostar it was late twice ~ the first time a girl was taken ill and we had to make a stop so she and her family could get off and the second time was down to bad weather but the third time we were actually early.

I've found another train at 22:25 from St Pancras which maybe a better option. Although it comes back to Derby not Chesterfield, I can get my in-laws to collect us

Rang Eurostar about getting on/off at St Pancras instead but was on hold for 18 minutes before I hung up!!! So I've now emailed them, hope to get a reply other wise I'll call again next week.

Oops, I forgot to answer that part!

Other DISers have said that when they've phoned about getting on at another station there hasn't been a problem so I'm sure it will be OK to get off at another one too. Hopefully they'll reply to your email a bit quicker than to your phone call!
