Another dumb passport question

Call me names, go ahead, but someone please just tell me: Are we going to be required to have passports for our 11/12/2005 cruise? I am trying to keep up with all of the threads, but I am just lost somewhere!!!

Nope, passports are not needed until December 31, 2005. We should have ours in about 3 weeks.

No- I believe that the law goes into effect Dec 31, 2005. We are going to go ahead and get passports since we know we will be cruising in the next few years and would rather have as many things out of the way as we can.
