Unexpected DL trip October 5th to 10th!

Will Imagine fireworks go off that week? No schedule on Disney Web Site!

We're staying at Disneyland Hotel. Is Paradise Pier an easy walk to have dinner? Is there anything to do at Paradise Pier?

My husband is attending a convention at the Anaheim Marriott.
Anyone know how long a walk / cab ride that is to/from the Disneyland Hotel?

Thank you!

Paradise Pier is two different things. Which one you are thinking of I do not know.
There is the Paradise Pier Hotel which is located next to the Disneyland Hotel. It has a ocuple of restaurants that seem to get decent reviews. It would be a 4-7 minute walk form one of the Disneyland Hotel Towers.
Paradise Pier is a section inside Disney's California Adventure themepark. To get there from the Disneyland hotel you will need to walk through Downtown Disney and enter through the front turnstiles and then walk back to Paradise Pier. There is only one sitdown restaurant next to the Pier Section. It is called Ariels Grotto and is a charcter meal. I like the food and atmosphere, There are other restaurants in the themepark as well as the Grand Californian Hotel which is attatched to the themepark.

We are DL newbies with a trip planned the first week in Nov. I see the park hours hours, but the times for fireworks and Fantasmic are not listed. Does anyone know the traditional hours for that time of year? Are these shows daily or weekend only?

Also, does anyone know of a website like Deb's that has menus for the restaurants at DL? I have looked at laughingplace, but their info seems out of date.

Thanks!

Fantasmic won't be running in Nov because the Columbia will be down for refurb (getting new sides) and they can't do the show w/o it (nor would I want to see it w/o it as that's my fave part of the show).

I usually go to www.mouseplanet.com for menus, but some of the menus might be a little outdated (I don't know if they put dates on them like Deb's website), but at least it might help to give you a general idea of what the restaurants serve and the price range.

During our 2001 stay which was about 4 days long at the GC, we were pleasantly surprised with the variety of restaurants at the hotels and in DD. We had a great dinner at Storyteller's Cafe in GC (they have a buffet, but we ordered off the menu since we weren't that hungry), their corn chowder is really out of this world! We also had great meals at Naples in DD, and Hooks Pointe in DLH.

The only place I didn't really care for, mainly because of the service, was ESPN. The quantities of food were very large, but I just thought it was "okay" in terms of taste.

Next time I'd like to try Napa in GC.

Nope right now there is no nighttime enertainment scheduled from Labor day (ish) to Christmas. Imagine was only for the summer season and will be set to the history books on Labor Day (or close there to) I believe its one of DLs agreements to the neighborhoods and their fireworks "issues" (hey if I lived near DL I'd LOVE fireworks every night... Dont know what *their* problems are...) to go sparingly offseason with the shows.

As far as I know They'll roll out a new show for Christmas then nothing till Remember kicks of May 5.

The marriott is right south of DCA and if you can still walk that area it would be about a 10-15 min walk. (I'm not sure of how they redid the area post DCA)
