Hi folks,

I'm still humming and hawing (sp?!) about the DDP.....I've been reading up on this and it mentions about being on-site and having tickets. I booked online via the uk site but booked the hotel and ticket part separately - is this likely to rule me out of being able to take it up?

Yes I think it does, you have to get a package of hotel, tickets and DDP for the whole of your stay.
This is slightly different if you are a DVC member where as you can book DDP for length of stay and no park tickets need be purchased, this also enables split stays at different resorts for DVC members which would be uneconomical for most other guests using the DDP as they would have to purchase more than one set of tickets.

I phoned and alas you're right.....I wanted to activate this from my stay at POP - but they won't let me.

To change it would mean having to try and get an extra night at the start to take AKL to 5 nights, either change/cancel our night at Universal and then maybe change from 12 to 11 at POP - more hassle than it appears to be worth.

It's a shame there is no way of sorting this out.....

Sorry you can't do the DDP plan but for future you can only do it if you book the hotel/ticket/DDP together.

For you to do it on your Pop stay you would need to have a ticket linked to that reservation to be eligible for the DDP. If you had a ticket on your AKL reservation that would only make you eligible for the DDP at AKL as Disney count each seperate resort as a seperate stay - I don't know why :confused3

It's a shame and seems somewhat bizarre given I've booked 16 nights of accommodation with them and booked 14 days worth of tickets - and I want to spend more money!! :scared:

Oh well - you live and learn - I'll look into the possibilities but I did want a night at Universal and it looks like to do this, I'll need to do it at the end of the trip or drop it.

Plus, I'm sure Disney will find some way of charging me for wanting to chop and change things around....lol!

;) We asked nicely and Disney change our hotel and tickets only booking to include flights and dining plan and we got our original deposit back (but had to pay the deposit again) so we were no worse off. We even upgraded from Pop Century to POFQ for a little more in price but we are happy with our total costs!! Got an all new reservation number and invoice with a full breakdown of costs. Now all our family needs to do is sort out API and ESTA. We''ll organise Mears shuttles to Universal at a later stage in the planning process. We want to go there for 2 days too, counterbalanced by the DDP credits we will not be using those two days;) We will sort out our US/IOA tickets nearer the time.
