We are first staying offsite for4 nights, then going on the disney cruise, then we are staying at the pop for 5 nights. Here are my questions:
1- Can we go to this campire while we are not staying on property?Do we have to wait until we check in on the back part of our vacation?
2-Do you have to show any passes to get in? Make reservations somewhere?
3-What is the cost of this campire?
4-Do you go to fort wilderness main desk and ask for directions or are there signs around?
5-When does the schedule come out for August?
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH

I'll answer them in order:

1. Yes, all are welcome
2. No, all are welcome
3. Free, (that's zero $$)
4. No need to stop at the desk. Take any bus to FW then transfer to an internal bus that stops at teh meadows/campfire area. Either the yellow or orange internal routes will get you there. If you hear the bus driver say anything about the meadows, campfire area, main pool or meadows trading post that's your stop.
5. On August 1st. Volunteers (like folks staying at FW) post it as soon as it comes out. For some reason next months schedule is a Disney secret.

Go early and just wander around FW. You could spend the better part of an afternoon there. I like wandering around and looking at RVs I can't afford :rolleyes1

If you want to get a lay of the land, I have a FW map on my website (link below)

Just stop by and have fun!

The last post is correct about Campfire, but if you drive over they will check for onsite pass at Guardshack. Last Dec. we had to stop each time we went in after leaving. If you can use Disney transportation then its no problem.

In addition to the main entrance to Fort Wilderness with the security booth, there is another public entrance about 150 yards down the road with no security booth. This other public entrance leads to a public parking lot from which you can park your car to visit Fort Wilderness.

The parking lot accessable by this other entrance is surrounded by posts/columns, so you can't drive your car into the the camping loops from there, but you can park your car and walk over to the bus stop that will take you to the free campfire program, available to everyone even if you are not staying at a Disney hotel.

thank you very much. I guess we are going to see what movies will be out in august. sounds like a fun night out!
