DAY 14 – Frider and Satdy home time.

Well, that’s it then.

Got back just before 10. Been to Magic Kingdom all day.
We just beat a big thunderstorm home. Could see it to the North East as I drove back – massive sheet and fork lightning. Gaz and V are sittin watchin it illuminate the sky.

Since everyone is full of cold, I didn’t bother wakin them before 9 this mornin, even though I really wanted an early start. We got to MK entrance around 10 and to the ticket barriers around 10:15, which seemed reasonable.
It was hot again and the Park seemed quite busy. We got the Railroad round to Frontierland and went to see what the stand-by and FastPass times were like for Splash and Thunder Mountain. Both stand-byes were posted at 40 minutes with FP an hour or more later. As we stood outside Splash, they changed the stand-by time to only 20 minutes so me,Gaz and Julie went on while we could. Also sent V to get two FPs for Thunder for me and J – Gaz’s head was spinnin from his head cold so he didn’t want to agitate it.

We did Splash and our BTMR FPs were for over an hour so we went to have late brekkie/early lunch at Cosmic Rays.

After bait, me and Julie did Thunder, then we all went on The River Cruise – another 20 minute stand-by.

Dole Whips all round as we passed Alloa Isle then over to Tomorrowland to see what we could get on quickly there.
Nowt!
Buzz and Space Mounain were posted at 45 minutes stand by with FPs 90 minutes later. Walked back to Frontierland – didn’t even try FantasyLand this late in the day – and staked a good spot for the 3pm parade.

As predicted yesterder, this is now V’s official day-time parade. After that we caught the train from Frontierland, to complete the circle, and exited MK just as the parade finished on Main St.

We got the Water Taxi over to The Poly and hired two Water Mice for the kids for an hour. Me and V sat at the lakeside with a draft Bud for me and a Lava Flow for her – frozen Strawberry Dakari and Pina Colada. I managed another Bud while sittin gazin at the lake and contemplated me holider.

We caught the monorail back to MK once the kids came back and got to ride up-front, which was nice.

Back to Main Street by 5ish, we went back to Tomorrowland to finish V’s rides. Buzz was still showin 30 minute stand-by and FPs were finished. We went on The Tomorrowland Transit Authority – which was down when we passed through earlier – and checked Space Mntn as we went by – 45 minute stand-by, no FPs. Gaz still didn’t fancy gettin shaken about and J wasn’t too bothered about Space so we all stood in line for Buzz for V’s benefit. She scored 486,600 (somehow!) and was a bit pleased.

It was only 6.15 and an hour to FiTS, but nowt really left to do –and it was dead ‘close’ (humid) – so we went to stand in me tracks for the fireworks.
Took a detour down Main Street to glance in the shops on the way.
Which was a mistake coz it cost uz $38 for a Winnie The Pooh school bag for Julie.

Watched FiTS and we’re sure the fireworks have changed slightly too. Maybe it’s just us, but lots of stuff seems to have changed , even slightly , this year.

We were pleased to get from Main Street to leavin Disney in 20 minutes, as we’d expected it to take ages. Course I’m not used to findin me way ‘home’ in the dark from MK, so ended up circling the I4 a couple of times but we found our way eventually.

Went to Race Rock for tea determined to try the sweets. So the Plan was to have an onion between us and two deserts between us. On the way we decided we were too hungry not to have meat so we had a explode onion between us, entrees each and couldn’t manage the Pud again.

And that’s it really.

I thought I’d get this down briefly tonight coz I’ll be a bit busy rebuildin Dave’s Villa tomorrer.

I’ll probably say ‘hello/tara’ before we set off for the airport in the afty, then finish these notes on Sunday afty or Monday mornin.

JULIE’S BIT AT THE END

We were at MK for about 10 am. We went to Frontierland first and did Splash and BTMR. Then went to cosmic and got burger and chips. I spent the whole time watching Chip and Dale who were outside signing autographs.

We got Dole whips and I got a coke and Chocolate icecream float which was surprisingly nice.

We went to Tomorrowland and went on Buzz and TTA.

We went on the water mice and traveled from the bay lake to MK for about an hour.

We walk through the shops as a short-cut to Main Street, to watch FiTS, but I can never go into a shop without buying something so I got a new school bag.

After FiTS we went to Race Rock and still didn’t manage an icecream – never mind there’s always next time.

The End

Oh no it isn’t !

Dad’s always get the last word.. Well in this drivel they do anyways…

The Satdy was a bit ‘odd’ as a last day coz we had Dave’s PC to play with and internet techywizardry meant me and The Boy could listen to the Sunderland v Bolton match live on Metro Radio, so we did.
It took all morning to load the Real Player needed to link to the local radio station and that meant we had to leave V to pack all on her own. Well, we had to sit by the PC while the download thingy went through it’s block by block countdown in case summat went wrong. After all that effort, we got beat (again!) and our hopes of a new era and last minute salvation were dashed once and for all.

Anyway enough of the important things in life. Back to the tedium that is a holider away from Scarborough.

As we sat at The Poly Beach yesterder, I contemplated me holider and concluded it had been good but different.
It had been good for the differences but it made me realise I’m a Disney Boy at heart. Dave’s gaff had been a great experience. Space, luxury and every TV Channel under the sun (when I could get the remote off our Julie). Havin the PC made it seem like bein home- in that I was on the PC for hours! We loved it and will always be grateful to Dave and Bev for letting us have their home as our own for two weeks. It was the most relaxed holider I’ve ever had and I loved it – but it’s not Disney. Sorry mate, but I know you’ll understand what I mean.
I don’t ‘do’ sittin about relaxin and chillin out – even when I like it. I need to fill every possible second of me holider and the drivin got me down – as yer might have noticed – and cut into me timeplan as I had to be home afore I fell asleep! (I usually kip on the Disney buses).
As I sat at The Poly, it dawned on me the best days of a great holider were the first and last. The days we were on-site. Usin the Transport, soakin up the atmosphere and drinkin at a poolside bar.
I loved me villa holider but realised it’s just not for me. Too much free time and sittin about when I should be rushin somewhere.

Anyway, next time we’re at The Riu at Lake Buena Vista so maybe we’ll have a different perspective again as it’ll be the first non-Disney hotel we’ve been to.

See yers in Part Two in December.

Dave - hope you get to read this, I know you've been away a while... just finished the full report... fantastic, again!:teeth: Thanks for keeping me enetertained for the last few days!

Mike:)
