Another Banking Question

Banking and Borrowing are still very confusing to me. I'm hoping someone can answer my question, I called member services, but wasn't completely confidient with the respoonse she gave me, I don't think she understood what I was asking.

Here is my question...

If I use banked points from Aug 2006 and August 2007 points to book a reservation In October 2007, what will happen to my points if for some reason I have to cancel my reservation? Will my banked remain banked and will my current points go back into the same use year? or will the points go into a holding account?

you are not going to like my answer depends.

if you cancel in Sept (31 days or less) before you Oct reservation all the points will go into holding.

otherwise all the points will be 2007. the difference is you must use your bank 2006 points before the August, 2008. your 2007 points you can bank into 2008 if you want too.

It depends upon when you cancel.

First off, the banked points can not be "unbanked", so they would remain in the 2007 use year. If you cancel 31 days or more prior to your scheduled arrival at the resort, all points will be returned to the 2007 use year and are subject to normal banking windows (the 2006 points can not be "re-banked" to 2008).

If you cancel 30 days or less prior to arrival, all the points will go into a holding account and must be used for reservations made 60 days prior to arrival or less. No holding points can be banked, they must be used before July 31, 2008, or be lost.

If you cancel on the day of your scheduled arrival, all pints are lost.

One more question? If I don't make another reservation, when do my banked 2006 points expire? Will they still expire August 2008?

You have an August use year. If you banked Aug. '06 points into your '07 use year, they will expire on July 31, 2008.
