Another AKL ?

Have booked concierge room for end of July. Just wondering if there are refrigerators in the rooms?

Psar, if you are in a concierge suite, there will be a small refigerator in the parlor room. For the other rooms, you may request one per the official WDW website:

(The following info is for a Deluxe Room - One King Bed & One Day Bed)

These rooms feature one king-size bed and a day bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, bathroom with private commode, and data port on the base of desktop telephone. Rooms also feature private balcony with a standard, savannah or pool view. Non-smoking rooms and rooms for Guests with disabilities are available.

Amenities include in-room safe, voice mail, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and 27" television. Coffeemaker and refrigerator available upon request.

Since you will be a concierge guest, please ask them to reserve a refrigerator for you. I hope you have a wonderful time at the AKL. I adore that resort and its staff (especially its concierge staff).

Our deluxe concierge room had a small fridge in it when we arrived. I think all the concierge rooms come with them. I think its the non-concierge deluxe rooms that require a request....not positive, maybe it was left there from the prior guest, but I recall reading that all AKL concierge rooms come with a fridge.

Richyams, I had not heard that before regarding refrigerators so I did a little sleuthing. I took a look at a friend's photos of a concierge room -- no refrigerator was in it. I also took a look through the AKL FAQ thread and Grumpyandbashful had posted that there were no refrigerators in their concierge rooms (neither 5th floor nor 6th floor). I have a friend at the AKL right now in a 6th floor room. When she returns from vacation, I'll ask her if her room had a refrigerator.

We just returned and had 2 rooms on 6th floor--no refrigerator in either.

Thank you for your posts. Now I'm just wondering if there is sufficient space to in the room to request a refrigerator.

The only concierge rooms that automatically come with fidges are at the Polynesian, and then the suites at the KL.

Ducklite, to add onto what you said, the official WDW website states the following for the Contemporary's full-blown concierge rooms (on the 14th floor):

CR Concierge Service:
Some rooms offer concierge service which includes personalized front desk and guest services, turndown service, refrigerator, coffeemaker, and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks, evening wine and cheese, and evening cordials and dessert. The Tower Club offers limited concierge service, continental breakfast, midday snacks, and refrigerator (upon request).

When I stayed in a limited-concierge room on the 12th floor (Tower Club), I requested a refrigerator in advance. From what the website states, I don't think I would have had to do that for a 14th floor room. Does anyone know that for certain?

Psar, the refrigerators are small, so you can probably squeeze one in somewhere. I know that some of the rooms have various bedding configurations, so depending upon which configuration you get, you might find lots of places to squeeze it in.

Hi we just returned from AKL concierge. We had 2 rooms on the fifth floor. One had the bunk configuration and had the 2 queen beds. Neither had a refrigerator.

There is definitely room to put one in though.

I thought about it, but with the ease of just going up to the lounge, we didn't miss it at all.

Now, if you have an infant, that's a different story. I would definitely request one.

lizzie64- Thank you for the reply. What trail did you stay on? I know the lounge is on the 6th floor - How far were your rooms from the lounge?

Stayed at the AKL and WL concierge last month. AKL did not have one. I requested one and it was brought up within 10 minutes. They said there would be a $10 fee but never got charged for it.

WL already had a refrigerator in it.

Last December, CR 14th floor had a refrigerator that was stocked.
