Another airline pricing question re:ATL & AirTrans

I know this question has been asked before but here goes again ....
I checked for flights to ATL for Sept 13-15 last Wed. And I found a direct flight from Buffalo with AirTran for $49.00 each way because I didn't have some other things in place for this business trip I didn't book it.

Today (Sat.) I checked the flights and the lowerest fare is $99 each way. My question is: Do I book it today or wait until the weekday again?

Do the rates change during the week with AirTran(never used them before). Or did I miss a seat sale?

I find Air Tran rates change with the wind - unlike other air carriers - I would keep checking a bit longer morning noon and night.

It's been my experience that cheaper flights can be found during the week, rather than on the weekend. Plus, the cheapest rates are easier to find in the wee hours of the night. I would recommend checking again during the week. $198+ RT is not a real bargain fare. However, I would not wait until too close to your departure date. If nothing better shows up this week, you may have to settle for the higher rate.

I see that Air-tran prices change at night and early morning - my suggestion would be to keep checking at night.

Airlines are very attentive to "yield management". They can project when people will be buying tickets, based on their past experience. They will have a limited number of the very lowest price tickets. When those are sold, they will then have a higher price ticket as their lowest. Also, they will raise the prices as the ays get closer to the flight.

Some airlines will, at the very last (such as the day before a flight) drop the prices to be able to fill up seats; but (a) don't count on it, and (b) if they have filled up there will be no more seats available.

Air tran had a sale that ended Thursday night.
I figure they'll have another one in a couple of weeks or so, but it may or may not include your dates.
