GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

I decided to call to see if I could get a reservation made with the popular "code". I asked if I qualify and gave the code, the CM tried and said it is originally set for the value resorts. I was interested in Coronado Springs so I asked for that and she was able to do it under the package code! Towards the end of the conversation she said I actually had a pin code attached to my name. Weird though because I asked if I had a code the day before and was told no, but I'm not complaining!

Here's comes the problem part. I really don't know if I got a good rate, it seems kinda high.

6 nights/7 days, parkhopper passes and dining plan (two people) for $1786.60
(includes tax and travel insurance.

Is that good? Did I actually get the discount? Is the dining plan a good thing? CONFUSED!

What time of year is your reservation for? That way we can see if you got a discount or not...

October 6 - Oct 12

Well, here's what I get at full price:

6 nights std.view Coronado Springs: $1113.75
7 day PH for 2: $447.30
Dining Plan for 6 days for 2 adults: $498.29

Total = $2059.34

Add trip insurance, which I think is about $120, brings your total to $2179.34.

It looks to me like you are saving $393.34, pretty close to the 40% rack rate discount. A little more than the 40% if it was a std. view, closer to the 40% if it was for a waterview room. Either way, looks like you got a good deal!:goodvibes

Thanks! I was starting to get concerned about price but the breakdown looks good!

I'm going for 10 nights mid August. How do you get a code for 40% off?

There are two kinds of codes, some are public and some are pin codes. The codes offered to the public are found in Disney newsletters, on their website or you can find them on sites such as this or www.mousesavers.com.

Pin codes are given out randomly by Disney. People who get a code are generally e-mailed the code or snail-mailed the code. The 40% off code was a pin code. These codes require a pin number to use, and are "attached" to your name in the Disney system. If you call Disney reservations, you can ask them to check and see if they have a code for you, which is what the OP did, and was sucessful. If you do not have a pin, you cannot use the code. There are various codes out there right now, and only certain dates that you can use the code for, and only a certain number of rooms available at certain resorts to use the codes on. Some people never seem to get a code, others, quite frequently. I myself got a 30% off code for Feb and March travel only via snail mail, which I could not use as I am not going until Dec. or Jan.. There are quite a few threads about the codes, esp. "THE code" (40% off), which will let you know the dates available, etc., but again, if you don't have a pin attached to your name, you will not get that discount.

Good luck!
