Hi...I don't post a whole lot on here, but thought I would post our report for others that may have some questions. Myself, Hubby and our 2 year old son went May 27th-June 2nd (BTW, we won this trip, which included 4 nights at the YC, (4) 4 day park hoppers, (4) Water park hoppers, (4) character breakfast vouchers, airfaire, transfers and (4) admissions to Pleasure Island. Hubby and I were the only two adults going so we had extras of everything, which was great for our 2 extra days we decided to stay!
Day 1: Departed NY on Jet Blue early morning and arrived in MCO at 12:30. Jet Blue is a great airline and very very cheap (although we got the tickets for free). They even have tv's which my son loved! We took Mears shuttle service from the airport to the Yacht Club. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our shuttle, and had to drop off a few people on the way, but we got to our hotel around 1:30 and our room was ready and waiting for us. The YC is beautiful! Once in our room, we recieved a lovely gift basket with an autograph book, pen, some beanie toys and chocolates. Also, our package we sent from home with bottles of water and juice were waiting for us there on the table. We had kind of a crappy view, but we were close to the elevator which was nice. We then checked out the pool, Stormalong bay which was awesome! The sand bottom is so cool! My son loved it. I loved the waterslide! After a dip in the pool we walked over to Epcot and walked around for a few hours. We were disapointed that all the fast passes were gone for Test Track. O well maybe next time. We ordered room service for dinner, and went to bed.
Day 2: Went to Early Entry at the MK. We headed straight to Dumbo, there was about a 20 minute wait, but well worth it to ride that elephant we see in the commercials! We then went on peter pans flight, winnie the pooh, small world, buzz lightyear and then over to toontown fair. There were no lines to meet the characters which was surprising. My son just loved all the characters! We got so many cute pics. We did all this by 11:30am, and decided to take a break and head back to the hotel. We had lunch at the YC Galley, which is nice and then headed back to the MK for dinner with Winnie the POoh and friends at the Crystal Palace. Great food! and Outstanding Service. The characters spend alot of time at each table and come around more than once. Definately reccomend this one. After dinner, went over to Alladins Carpet ride, rode this a few times, as there was no lines then headed back to the hotel. I must say for Memorial Day the place wasn't as crowded as i thought it would be. Definately hot though!
Day 3: Went to AK, had PS for The restaurantasorus Character Breakfast at 7:40, which confused us as the park didn't open until 8 that day, and they weren't letting anyone in, so we got to eat around 8:20. We weren't very impressed with the food or the attention given by the characters. Maybe it was just an off day. After breakfast we went over to the Dinosaur ride which was really really cool! Hubby and I took turns riding as DS was too small. After this we got Fast Pass for Kilimanjaro Safaris and while we waited for our time to come up, we watched a show and had some fruit from the fruit stand. We got on Kilamanjaro and saw lots of animals. A giraffe came right up to the jeep. Got lots of cool pics! After the Safari we thought it was definately time to head back to the hotel, as it was soooo hot that day, and we were getting exhausted. On the way out of the park they had a band playing some reggae music and DS was a dancin fool! It was so cute! Had some lunch in the hotel, then rested up for E-Night. Hubby and I went to E-night and we got a sitter from kindercare which worked out great. We had alot of fun at the MK and there were no lines at all! We rode space mountain and big thunder railroad a couple of times.
Day 4: Did the Cape May character breakfast at the Beach Club. Very nice, good food, and the characters all had their beach attire on. Minnie Mouse was even there! We then went over to Blizzard Beach. DS loved Tikes Peak and the lazy river. The lines for the water slides were really really long so we didn't do any of those. We mainly played in wave pool and tikes peak, and went back to the hotel after having lunch in the park. We hung out at Stormalong Bay for a bit then went over to MGM. We did the Kermit 3D show at MGM and that was about it. We aren't big fans of sit down shows, so we left after about an hour. We had made PS for Mama Melroses that night, but after checking in nothing looked good to us so we left. We then went over to the Swan and had dinner at the Coral Cafe, food was great and excellent service! After dinner we took a bike ride on the boardwalk and played a few games. DS looked so cute riding in the bike basket ringing the bell
Day 5: Went to the MK in the morning, rode all the rides we wanted to get in, then headed back to the hotel for lunch at beaches n cream. Definately reccomend this place! Very good burgers! Thenm it was time to check out of the YC
We wanted to extend our stay there, but it was $305 a nite, and that was just too much so with a tip from mousesavers, we got the $65 rate at the AS Music. We had a late checkout at YC at 12:30, and they transfered our bags for us to the AS. We then took a cab over to AS and checked in, and was surprised our room was ready. We had our luggage delivered about 5 minutes after checking in, then headed off to the MK and then to Chef MIckeys for dinner. Chef Mickeys is the best! My son loved this one too! Especially the napkin twirling. The food was really really good too. We then headed back to the MK and prepared ourself for the bus ride back to AS. The lines for the buses were sooooooooo long. We had to wait for a few buses before we could catch one we fit on. I must say that is the drawback of staying at the AS is the crowded buses. We didn't experience crowded buses at they YC, and they pick up from 4 hotels.
Day 6: Had breakfast at the food court, then headed for typhoon lagoon. Fun place! The slides are awesome! Especially the speed slides, but I must warn you, major wedgies! Make sure you fix your suit before you get up! LOL...Once again DS loved the lazy river and the wave pool, but the waves were so powerful they kept knocking him and I over (hubby was off in the deep end somewhere). I got knocked over and scraped my leg up pretty bad, so that's when it was time to get out. Then it started thunderstorming, so we all took cover under the picnic areas for about 45 mintues, then when it stopped we headed back to the hotel. After some resting we headed over to MK for another trip to the Crystal Palace for the Winnie the Pooh Dinner. We loved it so much the first time, had to go back! After dinner, we staked out our spot in front of the LIberty Tree tavern for the spectromagic parade. We got front row seats with a great view. The parade is a definate must! It rained a little, so we hubby went and bought a huge golf umbrella with mickey on it and that kept us dry ($40.00 for an umbrella!, definately remember to bring one!) AFter the parade, we rode the Alladin Magic Carpet ride (again!) and headed over to see the fireworks. Then we went shopping on Main Street and headed back to the hotel.
Day 7: Check out Day
We requested a late checkout - at 1:00PM and hung out at the pool all morning, then packed, had our luggage picked up, and waited for Mears. Then it was off to the airport and back to reality
We had so much fun, and our son just loved it there. I wanna move there! We took tons of pics, and I've made a scrapbook out of a disney 2001 photo album that looks so cute. If your traveling with a child I definately reccomend taking it slow, and taking naps half way thru the day. Also, drink lots of water, and put A&D ointment on your feet to prevent blisters. And definately bring one of those misty fans and a soft side cooler with ice to keep the drinks cold. It's amazing all the stuff we stashed in the stroller basket! I also would bring your own stroller. The ones they rent don't recline and have no baskets, only a net thing that doesn't hold much. And definately bring a poncho to cover up the stroller when your inside an attraction in case it rains. You don't wanna come out to a soaking wet stroller like we did! I'm sure I forgot to post alot of things, as I didn't keep detailed notes, but if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them for you.
We will definatley be going back, I was thinking around the first week of December. I hope to stay at the YC or Beach Club if we can get a good deal. Or better yet, maybe we could win another trip!
