Annual passports question

Having booked the flights and hotel I am now working out what sort of tickets I want.
We want to be able to go into the parks on the Thurs, Fri and Mon of our stay but may wish to pop in on one day of the weekend (even thought we know it will be very busy) but may just want that option.(still trying to work out if it is worth paying for tickets if not going to be spending the whole day there)
Have been looking at the annual passport for one of us but have found on one site that says if you buy 4 passports you get 20% discount it says this information has recently been updated at the end of March.
Does any one know if this is correct? As on the official site (not that I can read French) I think it says you have to buy 5 to get a discount?
Hope someone will be able to tell me if this has changed recently as the site I have been reading implies.

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated :goodvibes

Thanks

Liz

you need to get 5 for the discount.

However! it is worth to get at least 1 of the AP passes because of the extra

1 day of shopping with 20% discount
1 meal (per pas / per bill) at a 20% discount
other days 10% on meals and shopping. You earn it back....

but if everybody gets the pas you can do 4 meals on 20% discount and have 4 days of 20% discount shopping...

this only counts if you get the DREAM AP but is worth it

Having looked into AP's for my trip, I have been advised via Disney UK that it is now 5 people required to get a discount, previously 4, and was changed in January this year.

Just got to decide whether to get Fantasy or Dream ones now.... :confused3

If you get 1 AP, just are eligible to buy day trip passes at a discount.

Yep, having just got back, and experiences the AP office, it's definitely 5 - not that I managed to get the discount!. Ensure you've documentation with you to cover you all are one family, of the same address!.

In the end, I did manage to get 2 extra months added to each of our passports.

Free Gifts at the moment are Buzz Laser Blast PINs and Buzz themes Passport Holders.

Hi Iain,

How did you manage to get the extra 2 months?

I was looking at the AP website at dlp.info and wondering about the sponsorship deals. Has anyone bought 1 AP up front, then got the remainder of their family added via sponsorship and subsequently got extra months added, plus bought the extra AP's at a discount?

The 2 extra months came about because the AP office and I 'disagreed' over whether I should have had teh family discount.

This really was a surname problem they I think was become 'lost in translation'. I had 4 different surnames I was presenting - which are really one 'family' of the same address, due to past /present relationships etc.

In the end they agreed (day 2) but couldn't (wouldn't) give the refund on the difference, instead offering to re-issue the AP's as 14 months instead of 12.

As this was the only offer on the table, I obviously took it!.

Hope you didn't waste too much of your holiday having to sort this out Iain. At least you didn't lose out. :) Gives you a very good excuse to return. ;)

Sorry to but in, but I've been looking at the annual passports and I'm a little confused.

I'm looking at the Fantasy @ 129euros.

Am I right in thinking that as a family of 4 we wouldn't qualify for any discounts unless ...........and this is what I'm thinking
I buy 1 annual passport, then sponsor the rest of the family using the "parrainage form" which I'll get from somewhere :confused3
As I read it on the website, this means a 10% discount on each of their passes and a maximum of 8 months added to mine, for 3 sponsorships. Or does it not apply to family members ?

Don't be afraid to tell me I've got this completely wrong, I'm sure I must have because I've worked out that this way it would cost approx £332.00 for 4 Fantasy passes,
whereas four "5 day hopper tickets" will cost me £418.00 (that can't be right, can it ?)

Can't help you with the parrainage form part of it Jill but I can confirm that annual passes are extremely good value, especially once you start using the discount in the parks. :goodvibes

Jill,

I hope you get an answer to that one, because that's the same question I am asking! AP's are good value IMO, but if I can get some with a 10% discount, then so much the better!

I've put a message on dlp.info to see if anyone can help, otherwise I'll try contacting DLRP direst to see what they say. I don't really understand how the "parrainage" thing works, also can't for the life of me understand why DLRP choose to only give the information out in French :confused3

...likely for the same reason that the only way to order an AP online is if you live in France, and even if you order the brochure that has the AP form on it, it is in French. I guess they don't understand that even those of us NOT in France may want to visit more than once a year!!

Good luck!

...(still waiting for my brochure to arrive so I can mail order my dream pass...)

Jill,

Just spoken with Disney UK who transferred me to DLP office. They confirmed that it is possible to buy 1 AP, then buy day passes for remainder of family. You can they upgrade to discounted AP's via sponsorship form. The cost of the day passes are deducted from the AP cost. All sounds a bit complicated, but at least it is possible!

I have requested the AP brochure, 10 days delivery apparently.
Fingers crossed that they've given you the right info, this is how I had thought it might work - a little complicated but worth it if you can get the discounts.

I've been pondering whether it would be possible to set up a "sponsorship" thread or similar, as I see it it benefits both parties, the sponsor gets upto 8 additional months on his/her passport and the new AP holder gets a discount.

I'm hoping there'll be more information with the brochure on the rules and regs. regarding "parrainage". :)

This was the information from the official site, bear in my mind my French is appalling so I could be wrong. ;)

I am not sure what you have translated but somewhere I have seen it laid out with the addition of the months from 1+3+8 totaling 12. That could be it.

Why do they make it so complicated???? :confused3

So the way I have read it is I have to:

Buy one annual passport in advance (not sure if I can buy one when we are there then sponsor the rest, doesn't sound like I can thought)

Buy 3 day passes for the others in my family

Go to the annual passport office or somewhere close to this and pick up a 3 sponsorship forms then with proof of address go to the passport office.

The passport office will then deduct the day pass price off of the 3 annual passport price plus 10%

I will then get an extra 12 months on my passport for sponsoring 3 passports

Is this option open to people living outside France?

This seems so complicated I also presume the form (if I ever receive it) is in French so I will have to try and fill it in correctly! and send it back in time.

I also presume that you have to "be there" to sponsor other passports.

Hopefully someone may beable to help on this????

So its difficult to do.

No I have done it and will be taking it in May to renew my pass.
The only difficulty is you need to go to have it renewed, and I am not sure that is true as I have received a postal renewal form as well.
I also presume that you have to "be there" to sponsor other passports.
No you are given a form and the people taking out the passes have to take it with them.

I like the idea of haveing a thread for the parrinage so others can take advantage of the discount. I was looking for someone to offer this when I took mine out and couldn't find anyone.
