Last year they offered a 35% Discount discount for annual passholders for merchandise bought around the parks and at Downtown Disney. Does anyone know if it will be ofered again this year?

I must have missed that one. I have been a passholder for 3 years and read all my discount information sent by Disney. I have never recieved any discounts for merchandise inside the parks. If that would had been offered I would have taken advantage of that. Where did you hear they offerred 35% off last year in the parks for passholders. I know that earlier this year they had some sales in the parks up to 35% off some select items due to the economy but anyone could take advantage of it. As long as I have been a passholder I have never got any discounts on merchandise inside the theme parks. Only 10% off at select downtown disney stores. Was this in the mickey monitor as I have all of them for the past three years.

Me neither, never heard of this one and we go every other month or so and have APs for years. You may be confusing this with something else, I couldn't even imagine them giving an across the board discount of any amount, much less 35%. Maybe on items they need to move.

I don't recall that, but I think they did have one day at Downtown Disney where early in the morning AP holders could get a discount at some stores; I don't think it was as high as 35% and it may have been only World of Disney. (of course, AP holders get 10% off there). Anyway, I think it was a specific day and just for a few hours.

No, I actualy took advantage of it last year and bought many Christmas gifts, along with the two Water Globes that I have on display in my living room. Hopefully someone can help me out. It was around this time of year. We took advantage of it around at Thanksgiving as we made special one-day trip just for that purpose.
Hopefully someone can help.

That would be sweet. I could really spend a lot of money if that were true.

Once when a friend and I were new cm's in NY we went to DL and hit it right. It's was 40% off for all cm's for food for the week. SWEET.

I havent seen that info either and we are also AP holders. The only discounts I know of is the ones described in the folder that the APs are in. World of DIsney, and a few select restaurants mentioned in the holder.

Wow, 35% off...if that were true, i would be a SHOPPING FOOL! =)

Who Knows What EVIL Lurks In The Heart Of Disney Marketing?!

When Disney feels ready to implement their next promotion they will do so. If other recent promotions have been any indication, for about the first month nobody will really understand it and the Marketing people will not have thought out all the ramifications.

Well, just to get back to everyone who think I am crazy, there were a couple of dates in November that passholders could get the 35% discount. In factm when I took advantage of it, the CM said, yes we wwere trained on this, but you are the first person who has taken advantage of it. I am sure it must have been in the Mickey Monitor last year. I will try and find it.

That post made me :lmao: !!

If anyone hears about this 35% off, please let us know!!

I vaguely remember about some sort of AP holder early shopping sale at World Of Disney, but I don't remember the details, and if we weren't going to be there I probably just glossed over it.

I remember vague details about a 1 day shopping special at stores at Downtown Disney. Maybe it was just World of Disney and I don't know it it was around Christmas or if it was a special clearance sale event. I know I heard about it on these boards. I don't think it was just for AP holders but I am not sure. I know about this because I told my friend and we thought of flying down for the day when I read about it.

Bumping to see if anyone has an answer as to what OP is referring to.

Thanks!

they offe stuff like that for CM family and friends. I had a cowroker who was a CM's DW take some other folks who were APs

They did offer this last year. It was good at any theme park or Downtown Disney store, as long as it was Disney owned. I got some nice collectibles from "Art of Disney", including a Swarovski Mickey Mouse, and some limited edition prints. It was a pin code that was sent out. If you booked under it, your room card had a special code on the back of it. The store cashiers would type in that code to give you the 35% discount.

Thanks Wall-E1! I always remember that I had a pin code attched to my room car. I purchased items at Pop Century Gift Shop, Summer Sands at Downtown Disney, Once Upon a Toy, and quite possibly World of Disney. The discount was 35%! I was beginning to think I was crazy with everyone telling me I was confused, when in fact, it was actually them, that were wrong!

Actually, since YOU didn't give the correct information about the discount(a pin code mailed out),you were in the wrong.(You had a CAR in your room????)

Sorry about leaving the "d" from the word "card". Actually, it was a pin code for passholders, there was a 35% discount, I was able to take advantage of it and save a lot of money on Christmas shopping.
Just hoping to do it again this year. I was just a little put off by the fact that everyone thought I was mistaken. But, again, I was glad I saved so much money! I was going to buy "Disney" gifts for everyone anyhow, and I was able to do so with a great savings, and just think, I was able to do so, even though I mispell things every now and then!

Yes, I remember this. I wish we lived closer to take advantage of the sale!!

I remember the 35% AP discount last year. I was disappointed because I couldn't take advantage of it since it was in between my November and December trips. Of course, I did get to take advantage of the 50% off sale they had before Christmas in all the parks. It was on Christmas decorations and t-shirts. Now that was a sale. I bought quite a bit.:woohoo:
