I just got back from Disneyland and they now offer the AP on payment plans for Southern California residents. :cool1:

Just be prepared the lines were long at the ticket booths, then at the AP center had a long line too. My family already had tickets so we went into Disneyland and straight to the AP center and waited in line to get our AP. They took the value of our ticket and applied it to the first cost.

Initial cost is $69 then the payments will vary depending what AP you get. I think the next payment will be in a few days and then every month after that. We got a Premium pass and the rest were Deluxe. Easier to make monthly payments vs paying close to $1000 up front.

This is really a smart idea on Disney's part, IMO. Especially because there's no charge for it.

So how does this work exactly? I think this is a great idea. We were wondering how we were going to renew next year but this will be perfect.

Only for So Cal residents? Yet again we Nor Calers get ignored......this would be great for us but we won't qualify..... :( Maybe by the time we need to renew next year they will expend this offer to include all of CA....I can dream right?

Can you do this online at the disneyland.com site too? This would really make my life easier!

I just talked to a person at the ticket number (714-781-4400) and he said that the program is available to anyone with a CALIFORNIA residence. It is AIMED at SoCal residents, but the wording of the contract is such that it is available to all California residents.

I hope this helps. I am only relaying what I was just told.

He also told me that while it is only available at the ticket windows right now, it will be available online sometime early next year (they hope).

He says it is too new to know if they will ever extend it to non-California residents.

That is interesting information, for it is nice to know that it is available to all Ca. residents. :)

I wonder if this means that the crowd levels will become worse over all at Dl.

Hey! Thanks for the info!! woo hoo!!! :) Now if for whatever reason DBF's parents decide not to get us the AP's for Christmas we will be able to do it this way. At least for the girls', since I still have the money for the other ones I had prepurchased. :)

Wow this is great!! Is this for a limited time offer only? Ours wont expire til next June and I would love to upgrade ours to a deluxe. Also one more question, if i wanted to go to DL on a blockout day, how much do i have to pay extra? used to be $25 but not sure if its still the same now.

When my friend just bought her own blockout day ticket in October, before she upgraded to a Premium AP, the cost of the ticket was $40.

Is it just me? Or is $40.00 for a black out date admission, some what expensive?

It does seem expensive. $25 seems more reasonable! To me, the odd thing is that all the blocked days have the same ticket price. So that means if you have a Deluxe AP, a block out day ticket would cost $40 on July 29th, on October 4, on December 19 or December 25th (as well as all the other days)! It seems a little imbalanced there that a July non-holiday ticket or an October 4th ticket would be the same as the Christmas Day December 25th ticket, but it is what it is, I guess! I am still annoyed with the dreaded nightly Resort Fee and applicable 15% tax!!

I wonder how necessary it is for Dl. to charge a nightly resort fee? I just would not care for that charge, to say the least.
I agree. If anything, it would make more sense, to charge a block out date admission according to the season or holiday, weekend etc.(Down with additional charges!)

I think there are quite a few people who dislike the mandatory Resort Fee because they use none of the services it covers! Also, I bet that once the economy stabilizes a bit - or maybe even before that - when DLR raises its ticket prices again, the block out day ticket prices will probably creep up too!

:faint:

Oh yes, I got that! I thought it was funny! I love the little fainting smilie! As much as we all love DLR, some of their prices are fainting spell-inducing!

I actually do wonder what DLR will do in 2009. It seems they have been on a course of raising ticket prices every year, whereas in the past they would skip a year here and there. Since they are already taking a hit in some ways by the bad economy as far as losing hotel bookings and people not spending as much money in the parks, I wonder if they will refrain from raising ticket prices and hotel rates in 2009 and just find ways to offer great hotel promo deals all year long! I can't see the economy improving dramatically by August or whenever the next ticket price hike would be. It will probably get worse before it gets better.

The President Elect most definitely has his work cut out for him. I sure am hoping that he will become this country's saving grace.
