Its a good idea? Im thinking about buying the annual pass for US and Island of Adventure if I get accepted in the CP it would cost about $220.00 is ok considering the fact that I pay a 100 something for the 2 parks and 2 days that was in November (2009)

what you thinking about? what you recommend me?

Here the link of the Preferred Pass (restrictions and more)

I just purchased a season pass to universal when I did spring advantage 09 and that was all I needed. You don't really have a lot of time to go to universal while you're there and you'll find that you end up going to Disney more just because it's free, you don't have to pay for parking and you get discounts on food and stuff. You don't get any of that at universal.

The season pass that I got was 99 bucks and I got it at publix. I think i went to universal 3 or 4 times while i was there, and then at the end of the season, they emailed me to take a survey and extended my season pass for another month or two.

I would say wait until you get down there and see if you make any connections that can hook you up with free tickets to places like Sea World, Universal, and BG before you buy a pass to a park. I was considering buying a Universal pass, but after thinking about it and talking to one of my friends in Orlando I probably won't. I already have an open offer to go to BG in Tampa, and could probably wind up with the same for Universal. Orlando pretty much revolves around Universal and Disney, so you'll more than likely run into and become friends with someone down there during your time who can make a season pass irrelevant. Unless of course, you plan on spending more time at Universal than Disney on your off days.

I have a Preferred Annual Pass. It's good with regards to the benefits, but at the same time, I live in Orlando, have a car and go to Universal Orlando Resort fairly often.

The main difference between the Season Pass and the Annual Passes is that the Annual Passes (with the exception of the Florida Resident Power Pass) give you Free Parking and Park and Resort Discounts. If you don't need any of those, the Season Pass works out to be a much better deal.

That being said, make friends with someone who works at UOR - many FT and CR Cast Members hold second jobs there. They get Complimentary Admission to both UOR and SeaWorld Orlando Adventure Park, and I do believe they can sign in people like we can at WDW (they can definately do it at UOR, not so sure about SeaWorld).

I not going to need much of the discounts thats true. Now that I know about the season pass I think it would be the best one to buy.

Thank you

In the spirit of asking about Universal (and maybe this would fit better in the Universal forums), I was wondering if there's a LYNX line that goes directly to Universal? I'll have a car down there, but $12 is $12 and any time I don't have to pay parking is good, especially since I love Hard Rock and know I'll be spending a little too much time and $$$ eating there. I know there's a LYNX stop at Wet n' Wild and the walk from there really isn't too bad (0.8 miles), but if there's a stop right there at the walkway/garages I might as well take advantage of it.

i've definitely been thinking about getting a season pass while i'm down there. but i won't have a car there so hopefully i'll be able to figure out the lynx. :)

if u think u'll be going to universal a lot, it's definitely worth it..i got one but i realized i didn't go as much as i thought i would b/c as one person said, u can get in disney free/discounts on stuff so oooobviously i went there 99.9% of my free time lol

If you have a car, then I think it is worth it! :) I had one when I was doing my cp to Universal and Sea World. I would go there alot on my days off or before going to work. After the first few months of disney its nice to ride some other rides, and thrill rollercoasters. :) So I do not regret buying my passes :)

I also got the pass for $99 at Publix. I'm not still sure if they're dong this, I bought a Florida resident season pass for $139 at Universal the other day, and all of the prices seemed to go up a ton from last year. For me, it was DEFINITELY worth the money. Even though I think I only went to the parks maybe twice my program, there's Mardi Gras coming up soon! If you don't know about it, check the Universal website- throughout Feb-April there are concerts every Saturday night at Universal, along with a fun Mardi Gras parade and such. I went 4 times and it was awesome, so I definitely got my money's worth out of the pass!

There's actually a reason for this. Universal Orlando Resort recently revamped their ticket structure with their new USelect ticket system.

USelect is based off the Magic Your Way ticket programme at the Walt Disney World Resort, and shifts focus to encouraging Guests to buy multi-day package by offering them at a substantial discount on a per day basis.

On top of this, they also raised their base ticket and AP prices substantially.

As such, what used to be a good value, such as Annual Passes, are no longer as much a bargain.

I might not get a season pass because I don't know how many times I will be able to go. However, I'm definitely want to hit up Universal at least once while I'm there!

If anyone is really interested in Universal, I just received this notice from them:

If you're on a CP, it might be a bit hard to do because of the whole open availability thing, but it's still something to keep in mind.

Thanks for posting glendalais! I might have to look into applying, just because hours are hard to find around WDW this time of year!
