Hi there,

Can anyone confirm if I will be able to offset the cost of my package bought passes against an annual pass when inside?

I have only just decided to take up the offer since the free child passes scheme, but already have a package booked. Some comments would indicate that they will refund one day of the pass off the overall cost, and others seem to suggest that the reduction will only be administered if you have bought a one day pass at the gate.

Has anyone ever tried to buy a pass whilst on a package deal?

We tried and were told the package tickets did not have any value against the purchase of APs.:sad2:

You can refund the cost of a day ticket against the annual passport as the price is printed on the ticket.

Unfortunately there is no value printed on the package ticket which is valid for the duration of your stay only. No reduction I'm afraid to say :confused3

We tried at Easter to do this as we'd understood we'd be refunded one day but were told nothing would be refunded.

Before we went we had actually done lots of sums (aagh!!!) and worked out we would have to spend an awful lot to break even by getting discounts from meals/shopping etc.

So even though we enquired we had more or less resigned ourselves to getting annual pass next time we go (in summer :cheer2: ).

What we did though was buy day passes ready so we can go right in and dont have to queue there to buy them

Thanks for the info. Can I also ask, do they take and keep the one day hoppers after you have bought the pass?

Yes they do!

But that doesn't stop you getting a FP with it before you visit the AP office ;)

Right-o. Seems like I am goosed!

Will have to look at cheaper Francillien Pass then. Can anyone confirm if it can be used on consecutive days. I know it cannot be used on the two days after you buy it, but what about return trips later in the year? Website says it's open to all (nothing about having to live in France) and also says nothing about restrictions other than blacked out days. Help!!!

I id TRY to call today and find all this out, but was on hold forever and then got a really unhelpful staff member:headache:

As far as Im aware Francilien pass is open to all and as you say cant be used for 2 days after buy it but then can be used on all days except blackout days.

Remember though there arent as many benefits with francilien as with dream pass eg no EMH or free parking and I dont think discounts in shops/restaurants but may be wrong on this one.

Also remember annual pass starts when you buy it so if you buy it when there it will start then and if you already have passes for those days you are doubling up and then wasting time in between visits. Why not just buy pass next time you go?- will then start then.

I am determined to avail of the under 7's free annual pass. This is only available as an offer till September and we will not be back again before then. Might simply buy the Francillien ones, as for a total of 178 Euro, all 4 of us will get free access for next trips. This is a bargain, even if you just compare it to buying three day hoppers for the next trip!

Also, there is a 10% discount for all restaurants year round with the pass, and one off 10% at shops. So I reckon they will pay for themselves really...

How many passes do you need to buy now ie. how many kids under 7?

I would only buy the passes you actually need now and any others later. Also if you are buying child/adult passes that are not matched by free kids then you can use sponsorship to save 10% on those.

Do you already have your package passes? You may be able to flog em on ebay LOL!

I need to buy two adult passes to cover the whole family as both kids are under 7. The package passes that I have purchased will only be supplied when we get to the hotel, so theres nothing I can do to recoup the cost of these:sad1:

If you buy Francillien passes then you won't be able to use them for two days anyway. Therefore, you will still need the passes that came with the package you booked. You might want to check which days are excluded to make sure you aren't likely to want to visit on one of those days.

If you go for one of the other passes then why not just use your package pass on day one, then your AP on the other days? I may have this wrong and the passes are only valid for the time you are there, but if they are regular 4 day hoppers (or whatever) then you will be able to sell them on Ebay with days remaining on them.

I had thought of that. Plan was to buy 2 Francillien passes. Use our package passes for first 3 days and then the annual pass would suffice for the rest of our stay. But the remaining three days on each pass would only be valid for the duration of our booked stay and so no time to sell them....Our plan mat still be to do this and then on the fourth day simply han them to someone in the queue for tickets. We did this before and someone was very grateful...reckon my karma will be excellent...:rotfl2:

I can confirm that my package park tickets in Feb this year were 3-day hopper passes, but only "duration of stay".
