I called today to renew my platinum passes only to be told that they don’t give a DVC discount anymore. Now renewing my platinum passes to the current Incredi pass is going to cost me $1000 more for three annual passes. If I called 48 hours sooner I could’ve saved myself $1000. And now my hands are tied because I already booked a trip Christmas week for my mom‘s 70th birthday.…So I need the pass without the block out dates. No one ever notified me of these price changes. I knew that they were changing the passes but never dreamed they would drop a discount for Dvc the most loyal customers. I wasn’t happy aboutHaving to pay for fast passes now and Magic express but this is just over the top squeezing their most valued customers for an insane increase in prices. I i’ve been traveling to Walt Disney World at least three times a year for the past eight years… And I feel the magic is dwindling. I am
So disappointed. Not sure it is even worth having DVC anymore. I hope other complain bc this is not fair. Between the dues, new annual pass prices, magic express eliminated and paid fastoasses can someone tell
Me what the heck is going on??? Who thought this was a good idea?!! Terrible!!!!

Florida residents also lost that same discount on the platinum/Incredi-pass.

You can always chose to not buy the annual passes, or not go at all. Ultimately, there’s a huge demand at this price point, just look at all the threads with people waiting on the phone for 4. 6, and even 10 hours just to upgrade to annual passes. They’ll keep squeezing …

I wish I saw this awful
News!!!!!!! I’m sick
To
My stomach over that much of an increase. Covid ruined everything

Unfortunately Disney is squeezing every last cent they can out of people. This includes frequent visitors. Most loyal currently takes a back seat to most profitable. Disney would rather people stay home at Xmas/T'giving than give them a "discount" to come.

Lots of changes being made. There was not much notice given about the new AP changes..about a week…thst said their within the renewal window had until Sept 7th to get the old process.

it seems Disney took the time to reset a lot of the things rumored that they had wanted to change.

I still think down the road they could end up offering specials but we shall see.

I wish I was optimistic as you. But I'll keep my fingers crossed. We now have grand children to share this experience with.

Same here but with all the changes, our kids said they have no plans to go any time soon even with our DVC points. They grew up on the 'old Disney' experience and are angry at the recent 'money grab' (their words) that Disney is executing. Can't argue with their logic, unfortunately.

I’m not sure how many days you are planning to visit the parks around Christmas, but have you checked the price of maybe doing the Sorcerer’s Pass (as a renewal) plus the cost of regular tickets around Christmas? It might not be cheaper than the Incrdi-pass, but maybe???

Sorcerer is blocked for a full 2 weeks during that time...starting mid December. The Increi pass for an additional $400 will definitely be less expensive than adding daily tickets.

I asked about discounts several days ago and was told no decision was made. This may be the last AP I buy if the DVC passes are no longer discounted.

Fortunately for this year I got my Recovery AP for $765 and considering I was reimbursed $500 last year when I cancelled, I'm in good shape for one more year. Now if I can just get down there safely.

Wonder how this will change booking patterns if at all?

I anticipate next year more people who don't come at least twice a year will opt out of the APs unless their stays are at least two weeks in length to make it worth while.

There’s also the switch of Thanksgiving for Easter on the previously gold pass.

but, yes, I think Disney wants to switch some demand from Christmas/NYE to other times of the year.

The switch from Easter being blocked out to Thanksgiving being blocked out goes along with the changes gradually being made to the points charts, too. Adjusting demand.

That sucks but it has been all over the place everyone knew prices would go up. Just driving people to resale as they strip every plausible benefit from buying direct but hey people continue to pay it so speak with your wallet.

So is it just the Platinum pass or is it also affecting the Gold pass? Seems we are no longer special, just being shoved in with the rest of the herd.

The Platinum and Gold Passes no longer exist. They were replaced with the Incredi-Pass and Sorcerer Pass respectively. There are no discounts available on the Incredi-Pass, so FL Residents & DVC Members pay the same rate as everyone else. The Sorcerer Pass is exclusive to FL Residents and DVC Members.
