Hi,

I looked through past threads and couldn't find an answer... Do you think it's best to purchase Annual Passes online or in person? Are there benefits buying it one way over the other?

Thanks for your time!
Barbara

I have always bought a 3 day or whatever pass online. Used the magic morning. Then upgraded to ap in person.

I buy gift cards at target for 5% savings.

Well...if you buy them in person (assuming you're buying them on a payment plan), you can put more money down then the $97 they ask for online.

Hi, Thank you both for your responses! The options you gave were things which didn't occur to us. We are discussing it now! LOL Thanks again. :)

I have this question as well. We will not be doing any payment plan, but buying outright. Does buying online then going to the ticket booth to get the card save any time? Thanks.

If you do it online and do the payment plan, your payments start immediately but the expiration date will be based upon first day of use.

I've done this pretty much every way you can. I prefer buying a 3 or 4 day pass, using the MM option, then transferring to APs on the final day of the ticket. It just feels like it gives you a little more bang for your buck, especially if you want to go during a time when your pass would otherwise be blocked.

In terms of buying at the parks or online, I choose online. It's slightly faster. You still have to go to the ticket booth at some point during your day and as of last November, their computer system was still slow and it took longer than it could have with a better system, but at least they had all of our personal information already so they didn't have to ask us to write down all of our addresses, birthdates, etc.

Oh, that's good to know!! We just bought our passes online since we wanted to do the payment plan, but we don't plan to visit Disney until later this month. Thank you for sharing that information, dina444444!

SusanMatt, since you're going to buy it outright and if you're close to a Disney store, try calling them to see if they have any passes for sale! We went to our store, thinking we could buy them through the payment plan (you can't), and the annual passes were there ready to go.

Thank you all for your replies! I do appreciate it. :)

I did in person because it was easier to use Disney gift cards for the down payment, and I had quite a bit in gift cards.
