I am thinking about going this route since we are buying a 10 day ticket this time and the 2 of us will be going back next year.
Do they send you a card? Or is it all on the magicband? (I have sensory issues - don't want the band)
Also, what do you give them for parking? Do you have a waiver or just show your card/band for them to scan?

I just want to add that they will not send you a card. You will receive a voucher that you can redeem for the actual Passholder card. You will need to get your actual AP at guest services or a ticket booth. Make sure that you bring your ID with you when you go to get your AP. They will ask for it.

If you linked your AP voucher to your MDE account, then the AP should load into MDE automatically when you redeem it. The anniversary date will be one year from the date of activation, not the date of purchase, unless you purchase your AP right at the ticket booth.

Any time that I've parked in one of the theme park lots, the CM has waived me through without even having to roll down my window. I don't know if it was because of the Magic Band (they have short-range RFID). But I've also heard of people having to stop and show the AP.

They will not send you a card, only the band. But when you get to the parks you can go to guest services and ask for an AP card to use as your ticket instead. Bring your ID and teh voucher... Easy and quick, if the line isn't crazy long. Also, you can pick up your AP discount card while you're there.
