My apologies if this has asked many times! We are getting AP's for our
upcoming trip in February and I was wondering if anyone knows if the
merchandise discount will continue through 2013 as Disney's website is
showing it will expire on Dec. 31st.
Thanks for any help :thumbsup2

The merchandise discount has been extended multiple times. I don't believe there has been any word yet on whether it will continue. When it was set to expire last Dec. 31, the announcement went out in late November about an extension, so keep checking.

Don't forget that the premium pass has seemed to always have the merchandise discounts. The others, not so much.

I was wondering the same thing. The 20% discount has been keeping me as a passholder since I buy a lot of vinylmation; however, I have a strange feeling it won't be extended. I'm crossing my fingers.

Agreed. I know since we started going to Disney eight years ago a 10% merchandise discount was a standard perk for a premium pass. It probably has been going on longer than that; that's just how far back I am aware of. The other passes offered no merchandise discounts. Then a few years back they offered this special promotional 10% discount for all passes below premium and increased the premium one to 20%. That "holiday discount" has now been extended at least three times, the last time for an entire year. Considering how much Disney has raised prices on merchandise, they should just extend the discount again as a goodwill gesture to all those passholders who have become accustomed to it or don't even know it never used to be a perk, but who knows. If Disney feels they're going to get healthy enough sales numbers without offering the discount, they'll take away the discount. Take a look at the resort hotel pricing and admission ticket prices and note the paucity of discounts there.

They said the same thing last year. 20% exp. on 12/31/11. Who knows. BTW the 20% is only for the premium AP. The other passes have a one time coupon for 20% off of a $50 purchase.

I thought that coupon is just a perk given out one per pass if you renew. The deluxe and So-Cal passes currently have 10% off merchandise discounts. It used to be that these passes didn't have merchandise discounts in the parks.

If would be very disappointing if they don't renew the discounts especially with that huge increase in the AP's this year.
