Hi
I've just returned from 2 weeks in florida. We used to go to DLP all the time but had been saving fur florida for last few years.

We are going to France for two weeks next summer - staying at LA croix du vieux pont.

I was looking at tickets for disney. I've realised that for a 3 day hopper I can buy and annual pass instead and possibly return easter/whit/next summer.

But I just have some questions:

Can I buy them from Uk beforehand? I know years ago you had to have french address? (I do actually have a friend who lives in france so could use her address?

Or is it easier to buy when at park? Is this more expensive as you have to pay for a full day first and then off set it? (Surely it's more to buy a day on the gate?

I have 7 children so would need to buy 9 passes!
When it says you get a 20% discount is this applied automatically?

If I pay the 30E car park upgrade do I just do this on one ticket? Surely me or kids won't need to do this as not driving?

Can you get deals on hotels if you have the passes? As don't need entry included?

Thanks. It's confusimg me and I'm not sure if I'm looking at old or new info? Or where to apply??

Thanks in advance

as you are a family of 9, you might find supertrips.net could be a good deal for you - but you won't be able to buy your temporary passes more than 6 months in advance of your first park day at DLP, as thats their typical validity for exchanging into a permanent annual pass at the AP office inside the DLP park.

Or is it easier to buy when at park? Is this more expensive as you have to pay for a full day first and then off set it? (Surely it's more to buy a day on the gate?

you don't need to buy a one-day ticket, you can just buy the annual pass at the gates of DLP, then exchange the ticket you get when you buy it there, for your permanent annual pass sometime that same day, at the AP office.

I have 7 children so would need to buy 9 passes!

no you'll need to ask for it, you'd get the family discount on a maximum of 5 of your annual passes, bought at the gates at DLP.

If I pay the 30E car park upgrade do I just do this on one ticket? Surely me or kids won't need to do this as not driving?

yes, just one annual pass needs to include the free parking, if you are all in one vehicle.

Can you get deals on hotels if you have the passes? As don't need entry included?

well you can, but with a family of 9 you'll be looking at 2 cabins at the Davy Crockatt ranch, or 2(possibly 3) rooms at the onsite hotels, so to be honest I don't think it would be good value for you at all to go that route. Usually its actually cheaper to book a one adult (and any free kids) package onsite, then add the others (to the maximum room occupancy, which is 4 guests aged 3 or over at the onsite hotels, and 6 guests aged 3 or over at the Davy Crockatt ranch cabins), when you check in. This would negate most of your annual pass purchases.

Thanks. It's confusimg me and I'm not sure if I'm looking at old or new info? Or where to apply??

Thanks in advance

Which annual passes were you considering for 8 out of the 9 of you?

You don't all need to get the same types of passes to get the 20% discount (it will be applied automatically). In our family (though it's only 3 of us), we have 1 Dream (and then can get 20% off in shops, 35% off in hotels), and my DH and DD have Fantasy passes.

You can add the car park option to one of the passes only (assuming you have one car). Note that you can also use any AP in the Disney Village car park (much closer to the parks than the main car park) and pay only 2.50 EUR per day (except on Sundays). Even though our APs give us free parking we usually park there, it's a lot more convenient.

If you buy the tickets at the park, you can discount the price of your normal entrance tickets from the price of your APs. So say you paid 100 EUR per person to get in (not the actual price), when you go to the AP office show them the tickets and the price will be discounted.

With the APs you can get deals in the hotels (room only deals, ie not including the park tickets since you have the AP) - however it works out much cheaper to stay offsite at a hotel nearby. Even with the 35% discount we get with my Dream AP, it's always at least half the price to stay off site. Personally we now tend to go for apartment like hotels, so that our daughter can go to sleep in a separate bedroom and we can stay up and watch some TV, and also so that we can have cook some of our evening meals ourselves (and save even more money ;) )

elena I think (but i might be wrong) the OP was talking about the 20% family discount for buying 5 of the same type of AP at the same time, at DLP (so in effect, one AP out of the 5 is free when you buy 5 at the same time).

Thanks DLPdaft. Yes I mean the discount for buying more than 5 passes!

I'm sure I read once that you had to have a french address to get the annual passes? Have they changed this then?

I panic that I'll get there and they won't let me buy them??

Anyone can buy an annual pass wherever you live and always have been able to but there is a company people used to be able to buy them from slightly cheaper and often with a childs pass free which I think is now only for those with a French address.

As already mentioned its usually cheaper to stay off site once you have APs . The room discounts are not 35% off but up to 35% off - different discount on different hotels at different times.

There is a sticky for annual pass info which it might be worth reading through
