annual pass purchase...for a discounted room

can i buy it ahead of time and use to get the discount, but not activate it until we get to WDW? If so, can I buy online?

I assume there is no way to use my 1-day ticket to upgrade and get the discounted hotel room ahead of a trip?

You do not need your annual pass until you check in at the resort. We have stopped at Guest Relations at DTD to get our AP's before checking in.

If you are planning to upgrade your "give a day, get a day" ticket, you need to use the ticket to enter a theme park then immediately go to guest relations and do the upgrade in park at that time.

Once you have your AP in hand you can go back and check in.

In December I checked in with my vouchers. When I asked if I should come back to show my AP later when I redeemed it at a park , I was told it was not necessary.

The most normal procedure is when you check in if you do not have your active AP with you, they will give you a certain amount of time to come back to the Front Desk with the AP in hand. Normally this is either 24 hours or, depending on the time, until some time the next night. If you do not return within the stated time with your actual AP they will then reprice the room to full rack rate and immediately charge your credit card for the difference.

And others from time to time. I look through the indexes for interesting titles, as well as threads I have previously replied to.

you can always apply the discount to your reserevation. Like you can ask for the AAA discount, but you have to show your card at check in. I've never had any issues.


along with the resort discount, there's merchandise discounts, dining discounts. The majority at world showcase and DTD. Exclusive merchandise. Tour discounts. There's booklet that come with your pass to tell you of all your discounts and special offers.

So make sure you look over it well.
