Annual Pass Magicband Slider?

I'm from the uk, and just stayed at a disney resort where we got given our magicbands. Whilst at disney I upgraded my ticket to an annual pass. I've seen online that when people renew their annual pass they get given a new magicband and a slider with the year printed in it. Should i have recived one of these sliders when i upgraded or is it just for those renewing their passes? I know its only a small thing, but I'm curious.

Guest Services doesn't have the sliders to give out. For US residents, they come in the mail with the AP MagicBands.
