We are going for to LA for 6 days with 4-5 days planned at DL in the month of October. Would it be worth it to buy 1 annual pass and stay at DL Hotel or Paradise Pier? I was thinking of waiting to see if there was a get 5 days for price of 3 and using the Ent Book discount to book the Carousel Inn.

What kind of rate could we get at DL Hotel or PP with an annual pass for the end of October (rough idea)?

I have no idea about the cost of DLH/PP at the end of October. But, regarding the 5 days for the price of 3 Park Hopper, they've already got that promo running -- effective through the beginning of January 2004 (I forget the exact date).

Depending on what days you are going and how old everyone is it may be worth it to get AP's for everyone in your party. A SoCal AP is only $106, much less than the Park Hoppers. If you're going to be there on non-blackout days this is a good deal. You can look up the blackout days on disneyland.com.

I stayed at the PP on an AP rate last October for $79 per nite (Sunday - Thursday). If I remember correctly, the DLH was $119 for standard view up to $139 for DTD view.

Expedia has also had some pretty good rates with the stay 4+ nites, get the last nite free...but these rates usually don't become available until 3-4 weeks prior. So you might consider booking a cancellable backup, then wait and see what happens as your trip approaches. There might also be some good deals at the Carousel or one of the other Harbor Hotels (i.e. Park Inn, BW Park Place, Fairfield, HoJo, Candy Cane) closer to your trip. Just curious, what rate can you get at the Carousel with the Ent discount?

We were quoted $59 a night for the Carousel in October using the Entertainment Book. I was going to book there however after watching the DL planning tape I so want to stay at one of the DL hotels!!

If we can get a rate of $79 at PP I think we buy 1 annual pass and stay there instead of carousel....

So many decisions...
