We are going on a Disney Cruise in Jan. 2010. We were going to go the the parks before and after our cruise (about 4 days) We were considering purchasing annual passes to cover that trip and the next year in Jan. for about 7 days. The only problem is my daughter will be 9 in 2010 then and of course 10 the next year when we try to use the passes for 2011. Will her pass still be valid or do we have to upgrade it to the 10 year-old price?

I believe if you use the AP at least once while she is at the 3-9 price then it will remain at that price until the next renewal.

The key would be to time the trips so you get to use the AP twice in the same 366 day period. So if the 2010 trip was the 2nd week in January, just plan to return the first week in January in 2011 so you squeeze in the second trip before the APs expire.

I believe they will also upgrade the child AP to an adult AP for free if the child turns 10 during the course of the year in which you purchased the child AP. The original expiration date wouldn't be affected.

That's what I thought. I just wanted someone with experience to tell me for sure.

Thanks so much for the info!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Don't worry you'll be fine. We got DS's child AP in December one year, he turned 10 in March and was able to keep/continue using the child AP for 2 more trips (June & early Decemeber). As long as the child is 9 & under when the ticket is purchased, it will remain valid.

This is also true for any of the Disney reservations (hotel, tickets, DDP) whatever age the child is when they check in, is their age for the entire trip.
