Annual Pass DVC Renewal

Bear with me. This might be confusing but I would love your help.

*Bought regular Disney World Annual Pass. Expires July 25, 2012.

*Bought DVC a few months ago so eligible for AP DVC discount.

*Going to Disneyland in June so thinking of upgrading to Premium Pass ($250 upgrade difference).


*I see the price for DVC renewal of regular and premium pass (I believe is $374 and $468). I also saw you can renew 30 days before.

*So could I upgrade my regular AP by renewing to Premium (although originally purchased regular) in end of June (30 days before) for $468? In this case, would I get Premium Pass from that point forward..so can be used at Disneyland in June? Would my renewal year be June or original date (but not valid until 2013)?

Does this make sense?

Ask on the Theme Parks boards - perhaps Cheshire Figment will see it and answer - he would know best.

One question - does your Disneyland trip actually fall within the 30 day window for the renewal - you only said "end of June" and since your expiration date is 7/25, that would be cutting it pretty close in any case.

Also, doing it remotely vs. at the park - you would only be sent a voucher to exchange, and that might be problematic with the timing as well, depending on your travel dates & the mail. That might be fixable by doing something like will call at the park at Disneyland.

I would definitely ask on the other board.

The problem is that you need a Premier Passport ticket not a Premium AP to go to Disneyland. They are $749. I think you can upgrade to this from what you paid for your current AP by paying the difference in what you paid for the AP and the $749 plus tax, but it will still expire on July 25.

Good catch, Disneycouple - I didn't catch "premium" vs. "premier" or that the prices seemed off.

Great catch. I was thinking that was TOO discounted of a price $749 down to $478!

Yes, I have regular annual WDW pass. All the premium/premiere words became interchanged when I thought I was getting a GREAT deal!
