Annual pass discount

im going to WDW with a friend. Normally do solo trips. Anyways, I have an annual pass and get 20% off quite a few places for food. I'm assuming unless we are on one check, she can't get the discount. Is this correct?

(I don't want to be on one check.)

You are the only one eligible for the discount, but I've had CMs extend it to friends/family members when eating or checking out at a shop together. Expect no discount & be glad if she gets one.

You'll get the discount only if you pay together. It's good for you and up to 3 guests, although our family of 5 had it applied to all of us for every meal on our trip last month. But yes as with pretty much all discounts like this you'd need to have it on one check.

I was under the impression that the AP discount applies to up to 10 at a table...........but the AP Holder has to pay the check. I know when we used it during our Nov 2016 trip we had 6 in our party and never had a problem. When my brother wanted to pay he just gave me cash and I paid the check...........we had "no" issues at all.

That's for TiW generally, not the current AP discount. Although I can't say for certain with the regular discount, the current 45th anniversary promotion of 20% off at many restaurants and 10% at pretty much all other Resort and Park TS restaurants, the fine print indicates it is for the AP holder and up to 3 other guests. I don't recall it mentioning who needs to pay.
