annual pass deal?

While searching for a deal on Universal Orlando tickets, I came across a deal for a Universal Hollywood annual pass for the price of a one day ticket. I got real excited for just a minute, until I realized it was Hollywood! But then I started wondering - does Universal Orlando ever offer a deal like this?

Not anymore and once Hogwarts goes into Hollywood, it will be a thing of the past there too.

I normally go to WDW 4-6 times a year and spend a day or two over at Universal each trip. I have a Preferred AP that expires the first week of May and just renew it every April when they send me the notice that it's expiring. I believe the renewal rate is like $170.00. However, this next year, I plan on decreasing my Florida trips to maybe twice to three times a year, so would only go over to Universal maybe three or four times (early May, late Nov/Early Dec, and then April/May to get one more trip out of it. However, most of those trips would be spent at WDW, with only a day, (maybe two) at Universal each trip. Which would be my cheapest option for Universal tickets (buy a one or two day park to park ticket each trip, renew my current Preferred AP, or a Power Pass?

Just renew your current AP...you never know when you might make an unscheduled trip and not having to worry about admission or parking is nice. Plus you'll still pay the renewal rate of $170 and change which is pretty good. If you let it go and then decide to buy a new one, you'll have to start over.
