Annual Pass and Onsite Questions

Hey everyone. In less then a week I will be back in Orlando and I just had a few questions.

First is about Upgrading Annual Passes. I currently have the Prefered Annual Pass and my wife has the Power Pass. Since our trip overlaps the Power Pass blackout dates I plan to upgrade her to a Preferred Pass as well.

Can this be done prior to our arrival or do we have to do the upgrade when we get there? Also our passes expire in September so do we pay the full cost difference of the passes or just the cost difference for the remaining months? Do we just go to Guest Services to do the upgrade?

My next question is regarding staying onsite. We have booked a one night stay at the Royal Pacific. From my understanding we get 2 days use of the Unlimited Express pass with a one night stay.

So how early can we "check in" on our first day. Could we still use the Early Entry that first day? Like could we show up at 7:30am to Royal Pacific and get our Express Passes and go to Early Entry.

Everyone in our party needs to be there at check in to get the Express Passes right?

Is Early Entry only avalible in Islands of Adventure currently or do they still do it in the Studios for Transformers and Despicable Me?

Can we leave our Luggage at the Hotel until our room is ready? How about on Check Out will the hotel hold our luggage until we are done in the parks or do we need to pack them in the car?

Can we use the Royal Pacific's parking lot both days or do we need to move to the parking garage on our check out day?

I think thats all the questions I have. Thanks for the help. This is the first we've stayed onsite so I'm excited to experiance it.

You can check in as early as you would like.

Yes, everyone has to be there in order to print your express passes.

Only IOA right now.

Yes, you luggage can be held by luggage services on checkin and checkout.

Can we use the Royal Pacific's parking lot both days or do we need to move to the parking garage on our check out day?

Parking is charged per night. That means you have from 12:01 am on checkin day to 11:59pm on check out day.

A: Please arrive as early as you like the day of check-in and our front desk agent will be happy to pre-register you and assist you with your Universal ExpressSM Unlimited pass. The bellman will hold your luggage while you enjoy the parks.

Q: What days is the FREE Universal ExpressSM Unlimited pass that serve as Express Access to skip the regular lines valid throughout my stay?

A: Your Universal ExpressSM Unlimited pass is valid for Express Access (at participating attractions) from the time issued by the front desk until the Universal Orlando theme parks close, the day of your departure.

Does your whole family have to be present for check-in or can we come to the lobby and get the Express Passes after we haul all our stuff in? Isn't there a kiosk to print Express Passes?

yes, I think what Bluer was trying to tell you was everyone needs to be there at the kiosk to have their picture taken...that morning... if you want to use them that morning. It's fun to make silly faces btw. There used to be a thread when they first put in the kiosks of everyone uploading their silly EP's!

Exactly. You can print them when ever you want before hitting the parks.

A room key will be given to everyone registered to the room at checkin. It is a plastic credit card with everyone's name on them. Plus they have the hotel logo and one if the many attractions or characters on them. Kids like them a lot and make a cool souvenir to keep.

Then each person will take their own room key and proceed to the EP kiosk right in the lobby. Put the key in the kiosk like at a gas pump. Follow the onscreen instructions. You can move the camera up and down depending in height. This is your opportunity to have fun. After picture press except it retake. If accept out spots you unlimited EP.

Only one last thing. Proceed to the parks to have the time of your life and feel like a VIP.

if you lose your express photo pass, you can have it remade at guest services in the parks.


they will cancel out your original pass so it is no longer valid and create a new one.

your hotel key allows you to use the designated early entry line.
TM's will direct you to it.

if you have kids that want to go ahead of you to the park and wait for you there, you can give them their hotel keys when you meet up.
you can all enter the park together then.

they can have their photo express pass made at guest services.
you won't have to back track to the hotel for their ep to be made.

i ran into a few people in the park in january that had a glitch with their epass.
guest services handled it promptly and new ones were made for them.
