I know that in past years, they've been held at the big ball room (or whatever you call it) at the Boardwalk. However, now that SSR is open, don't they have a room there that might be used? Does anyone know for sure where this year's meetings will be held? I haven't heard about any change, so I'm thinking it's probably still at Boardwalk, but somewhere in the back of my mind I thought they might change it.

The information for each home resorts meeting is on the members web site.

It figures! The problem is I can't access the member's website, even after repeated complaints. I guess I'm truly computer-challenged.

All that's listed on the website is the dates and times:

This'll be my first year to be at the BCV while they have their meeting. What goes on? Do you need your DVC member card to get access in or what?
Thanks

The OKW annual meeting was held once at what is now SSR. The auditorium area was fine, but the lobby area was very crowded with check-in, coffee area & rest rooms. My first OKW annual meeting was at the Grand Floridian, but I don't believe they have been back there. I much prefer the Boardwalk area - lots of room to move around. If worse comes to worse, we'll find out where the meetings are when we receive our notification in November.

As for the meetings themselves ... I encourage any member to attend an annual meeting even if it is not your home resort. It is a great way to hear first hand how our money/dues is being spent. I enjoy meeting the CMs who manage the resorts, budget the money, etc. Plus we get some info on upcoming Disney happenings. The first meeting is formal & follows proper protocol & is short, sweet & to the point! This year we should be introduced to a new DVC Treasurer. A few years ago we were introduced to Jim Lewis.

I know many members have Internet access. Last year before the meetings the "rumor" was running around on the Internet about DVC member AP discounts. I remember the excitement - :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc - of the member sitting in front of me when the Board announced the AP discounts. She had no idea until she heard it that morning.

We like going to them too. They are pretty cut and dried, but it's nice to see the faces behind the names of DVC, and get it from the "horses mouth" so to speak. Last year I think they were all at BWI conference center. We got there a bit late, so we were in the back of the room, but I agree, it was nice to see the excitement of the folks who didn't know ahead of time about the AP discount!
