Hi everyone.

I'm hoping someone can help me. I did call DVC but the cast member really didn't have great information. I'm going to rely on my fellow DVCer's and your extensive knowledge and experience.

I want to upgrade my 4 day one park per day pass to a Gold Annual pass when I get to Disney in November. I know i have to go to Guest Relations to do so. I know how much it will cost.

I'm wondering what kind of discounts are offered with this pass? Would we be paying parking at the theme parks or at the resorts (we are DVC members staying on points). Is the discount on food 10% or 20%? The CM I spoke to did not really know. She said she had to look it up by restaurant.

Is there an official Disney site for the annual gold pass discounts?

Thanks,
.

The dining discounts will vary depending upon restaurants and season. To get the DVC Gold Pass you need the blue DVC Member Card, which will often give you the same merch discounts. Usually lower dining discounts, though.

You will also be able to get annual pass holder room only discounts when you run out of points...... ( speaking from experience😉)

If you upgrade the original ticket to a DVC Gold Pass on your last day, does AP become active the following day, or the first day you use the AP. We will be upgrading our original ticket on the last day of our December trip and will return in March.

The AP date is the date you first used the pass you upgrading FROM. So in the PP it would be the first date of your December trip.

We purchased tickets as part of the package and they were discounted. We want to do the annual pass in February when we arrive, do we pay the difference between the list price and the ticket or what we paid and the annual pass? We are looking at the gold pass for DVC members .

It all depends on who your package is with. If with Disney, then the tickets will give you what you paid for them and apply to annual pass.

If you bought through someone else, then you will need to make sure that they are upgradable tickets...some discount places offer tickets that are not,

if they are discount tickets from an authorized dealer, then Disney will bridge to gate price and you will pay the difference.

Related Gold AP question (I think I know the answer but confirmation is always appreciated):
Have a trip planned (me, DW, DD, DD friend), with both me and DW "officially" DVC members (blue card). Are we (DW and I) the only eligible individuals for the Gold AP (with DVC discount), or can I include our DD and her friend and get each of us a Gold AP? Hoping for the latter, afraid it is the former. Thanks!

Only the individuals that live at an address of any of the DVC members (those listed on the deed) are eligible to have DVC Gold Passes to be bought for. They also state it's for immediate family members too.

Thanks, that is somewhat good news.

Does the Gold Pass qualify for the little perks such as the magnets available for “pass holders?” I don’t know why but I thought those were for Platinum only. Thank you in advance for your help!

Wow, then quite the deal if you don’t want to vacation on block out dates😊
