Annual Dues

Anyone know when the 2024 annual dues will come out so we can pay them early!
Dues are not finalized until voted on at the annual condo meeting which is held in early December. Statements are usually sent out by mid-December.

You can pre-pay any amount online using the DVC member website, but you won't see a detailed amount until mid-Dec.

When we still received dues statements in the mail, they used to arrive right at Christmas, give or take two days. Now, they are available online around the middle of December.

The annual condo meeting is on December 7th this year. Shortly before that (a week or two? can’t remember) the 2024 budgets will be posted to the member website, and you’ll be able to access the ones for your home resorts that way. They’ll also be posted (and discussed!) here on DISboards, don’t worry!

The actual bill you receive later in December might vary a little bit because of property taxes. DVC estimates property taxes each year when putting budgets together, but they don’t know how much actual taxes will be until just before dues time the next year. So if actual taxes were more than they estimated, the total bill we receive in December will be higher, and if taxes were lower than expected, we’ll have a credit applied to the bill.

And as Michael says above, you can prepay any amounts you want, and they’ll be held as a credit and applied to your account in January.

You can make payments in the portal even though it shows $0 due. It will just give you a negative balance (credit) that will apply once the dues hit. We do this since we try to pay with discounted gift cards throughout the year. Definitely softens up the hit, and it's easier for us to fit the dues in our budget that way instead of doing it as a lump sum!

It’s always fun when next year’s dues are released because something surprising always happens 😂 Wonder what the shake up will be this year. Which resorts have the biggest and smallest increases?

So I should really look at the resale market around the third week of December

There seems to be an increase in contract then but I don’t think it means there are better deals. Just that finding the right contract may easier!

We also usually see more activity on the Rental Board, people trying to rent their points, in the January to March timeframe, for those that don;t want to sell.
