Hoping someone can help me understand how they work this out. Just looked at my dues statement for 2009 and am a bit confused. We have 2 contracts at SSR for 100 pts, the first one is what I thougt it would be but the 2nd one ( an add on bought from disney in Oct last year) is showing an extra $97 more than the other.
I looked at the details but still not able to see how they come up with this. Hope someone can explain this for me.
Thanks for any help.

IF you didn't start paying dues on it when you bought in Oct. it might be Oct. through Dec. maybe?? But that seems too high for that too. Not sure.

You would owe 2008 dues on the add-on pro-rated from the day you bought until 12/31.

That $97 would cover 84 days worth of dues on a 100-pt contract at SSR, covering Oct 9 - Dec 31, 2008. Did you purchase your add-on contract on Oct 9th?

Total 2008 dues on a 100-pt contract at SSR: $421
Daily dues on that contract: $421/365 days = $1.1534 per day

$97/$1.1534 = 84.09 days

Thanks for the help, looks like the difference is the days from purchase to Dec 31. I had thought that when there was no closing costs to pay it included the dues for that period, but now realise that if that was the case everyone would add on at the beginning of the year and have a free year.
Once again thanks for your help.

When you purchase directly from Disney as either a first time buyer or a current member adding on, your dues for that year are pro-rated from the later of: your purchase date, the start of your initial Use Year for that contract and the occupancy date of the unit you purchased. Dues are pro-rated based on the number of days left in the year, 84 days in your case.
