Wendy (me) 46 but feels 21 in mind - Disney mad, the planner
John (DH) 46 - getting almost at Disney mad as me
Glen (DS) 14 - our lovely little boy one minute, stroppy teenager the next and mature young man occasionally
Ashley (DS) 11 - the loud one! A lot of this holiday has been based around his needs with him being very special.
Tuesday 16th October 2007
Predicated temperature high 80s.
Both John and I woke with thumping headaches, I dont think one cocktail the previous evening was responsible, we put it down to not drinking much coffee yesterday and having caffeine withdrawal! We put it right by grabbing a coffee and leaving the kids in bed catching up on some sleep (dont worry we let them know where we were going) and took a stroll downstairs to look around.
We called in the concierge desk to ask about our Hoop De Doo tickets for later in the week and they were printed off for us. Returned to find two boys awake and playing on their PSPs, had some toasted bagels and melon for brekkie.
Shortly after we went down to catch the bus to MK. Waited forever for a bus, we kept seeing them come into the YC premises and stay behind a security barrier, after the fourth bus joined the queue I went to ask at the valet desk what was happening with the buses and the CM rang the security gate which was promptly opened and the buses turned up all at once. Why one of the drivers couldnt have just beeped his horn Ill never know!
Took loads of photos as we made our way up a Halloween decorated Main Street, we decided to head off left at Crystal Palace towards Adventure land (our favourite part of MK), passed by Timon character meet (he just headed off for a rest so we moved on), it was very hot so we decided to use a snack credit to get some ice creams. Then we met Aladdin and Jasmine (dont have a photo - someone lost a photo pass card with this one and it wasnt me! I took a photo of the number on mine, someone didnt listen to my advice! But that arguments over with). We came across POTC ride and the photo pass lady (no photo again) told us Jack would be out in TWO MINUTES!!!!!! Mac came out first and picked on Ashley to stand on the rope teasing him as he had socks on with his lime green crocs (I had told him not to wear socks but does he ever listen - no) Ashley doesnt understand teasing very well and thought he was being told off and skulked away to stand at the back of the crowd to avoid being picked on again. Me - I was being a totally selfish mother and standing my ground at the front of the growing crowd. Took loads of photos to get that just right Capt Jack pose.
As we moved away a chap was trying to give away three fast passes for Splash Mountain as his little boy decided he didnt want to go on afterall, and people were turning them down. He offered them to us - I know there are four of us - but I said I would wait for the others to go on. In the end I went on with the boys and John stayed behind. This ride was bliss as we ended up soaked and cooled down, it was lovely. Time to head to Crystal Palace for lunch, checked in and seated in 10 minutes cost $104.53. This turned out to be Ashleys favourite mealtime experience. We met all the characters.
Back out to the park and the area in front of the castle looked deserted!
We went in Mickeys Philharmagic and Its a Small World and made our way to the parade route. 2.45pm and we got a front row spot in front of the castle. Walked around a bit more and caught the train in the Toontown area back to the entrance, it was very hot and the others were flagging so we headed home. When we got back to our room the purchases we made yesterday had been delivered all present and correct (including a pair of red/black mickey crocs for me $39.99). In the pool for a while before meeting up with the same families as last night for an Illuminations cruise.
This is Katie our lovely and lively pilot.
We parked under the bridge after tour around the lake, the boat next to us contained a family celebrating their young sons birthday and asked us if we wanted any birthday cake. John and Glen took them up on their kind offer and sat scoffing till the fireworks started. Much, much better cruise than last nights, great view, great pilot. We made our way back and said goodnight to the other families and had a early night.
