Wendy (me) 46 but feels 21 in mind - Disney mad, the planner
John (DH) 46 - getting almost at Disney mad as me
Glen (DS) 14 - our lovely little boy one minute, stroppy teenager the next and mature young man occasionally
Ashley (DS) 11 - the loud one! A lot of this holiday has been based around his needs with him being very special.

Monday 15th October 2007

According to the local weather forecast it would be very sunny and 86 degrees.

Slept a lot better last night, nipped to the lounge for croissants, bagels, doughnuts, melon, cereal, hot chocolate and coffee for breakfast (that was shared between us not just for me!) We walked to Epcot WS for the rope drop to get to FW. Took our time through England and Canada taking photos without anyone around. Made our way up to the ‘golfball’.

As we made our way to Soarin for a fast pass we called in the character meet as the queues were almost non existent. We saw Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale.

Glen loves Goofy and he made both of them laugh by pulling their caps down over their faces.

Rode Living with the Land and saw The Circle of Life film while we were waiting for the fast pass time to come around. Liked Soarin but felt it was over far too quickly. We went over to The Seas with Nemo and it was so hot outside. By now it was 12pm and we had an ADR for Garden Grill for 1pm. Wondered if it was worth trying to get in early. We were given a pager and waited about 10 minutes and we were in. I’d forgotten it was a revolving restaurant till I pushed right up against the wall to take a photo of the family and felt myself tipping over. Unfortunately we had a table on the top tier and it revolved around the entrance to the restaurant while we ate, we would have preferred it to be around the back where there is a more attractive setting, but the character interaction made up for this.

Mickey having a laugh at Glen’s tee shirt which says ‘I’m only grumpy on the days that end in y’.

Afterwards while the men folk were waiting for me to powder my nose they were approached by 4 elderly people who had one YOAMD fast passes, they only used Soarin and asked us if we wanted the rest, John didn’t know what the heck they were on about so its just as well I came out in time to explain what they were. Just as we were talking to them another elderly lady fell backwards over someones motorised wheelchair. Walking stick, glasses, bag went flying and everyone just stood watching. One lady approached her and as I could see no-one else bother, ran across the room to help. I picked her stuff up and she was deathly white, no cast member moved to help for a couple of minutes, I was very surprised. When they did eventually turn up they assumed she was with me! I left her in their care and we went over to Test Track to use the fast passes. We decided to catch the friendship boat back to the YC after calling in to get a few sweets to keep hunger at bay!

Spent a couple of hours in the pool. You can see the sandy bottom on this one.

We had got a Wishes cruise booked for tonight to share with two other families which was leaving from the Wilderness Lodge, we had arranged to meet in the Territory Lounge (recommended by a forum member) where I had my first cocktail - a Pina Colava and John had a blue glow drink. Not too keen to be honest but I was determined to try one! It went straight to my head so I hope I didn’t make a bad impression on the families we were meeting for the first time that night!

It was time to go over to the marina to catch the boat and pay for the trip and it was so dark we could hardly see what we were doing. Ashley was really nervous and quiet on the boat and he later confessed to being afraid of alligators in the water. We passed by the Electrical Pageant parade, which was a bonus and after a never ending boat ride parked up for the fireworks.
