My DFi and I are visiting home with her family (12 of us total) at the end of January. When booking they asked about any special occasions as they always do. I told them we had an anniversary during our trip.
How receptive will the CMs and the like be when my DFi and I are walking around with our anniversary pins? I have never stepped onto the " gay side" of Disney before. How gay friendly is Disney? It be nice if we actually got to act as a couple instead of a couple of friends. Obviously I'm not talking about hard core PDA but maybe holding hands at dinner and little hugs here and there. Am I thinking too hard about this?

You should encounter no problems from Disney or cast members. As far as PDA, most guests will have no problems with holding hands and pecks on the cheek, but of course there are common sense social limits that apply to both gay and straight couples. Basically, if it is socially inappropriate for straight couples, it is also inappropriate for GLBT couples. And if it is appropriate for straight couples, it is also appropriate for GLBT couples.

Sorry, i saw this in the current threads and had to comment. I believe love is love and I nor my children would be offended. Personally I wouldn't use tongue while kissing DH at Disney and I would hope no other couple, same sex or hetero would either. LOL

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards. Please excuse the typos.

Lmao wow maybe I'm a prude but public PDA for me is a hug! Lol Thank you both for the feedback. I just wanted to know what kind of a climate I would be walking into.

My husband and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary (same sex marriage in Massachusetts) at the restaurant Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. They knew it was our anniversary and they had a special menu printed up with our names and congratulations on our anniversary. They had an anniversary card signed by Mickey and Minnie, a special dessert, and a few other special surprises. We were treated just like any other couple celebrating a special occasion. Enjoy, and don't worry about what anyone else thinks. And congratulations!

Wow that is pretty awesome. Wonder if we will get anything like that lol thanks for that info. It makes me even more excited to go!

When Dorma Nesmond found out that my partner and I would be celebrating our 20th a few days later, she made a public proclamation to anyone on Sunset Blvd who would listen, and we got a hearty round of applause.

Later on, after she left, another Citizen of Hollywood (forget his name), came up to us and said, "That Dorma really loves her gays!" :)
