DH and I are going to DL and staying at the DLH for a long weekend for our 5th Anniversary next month. I am looking for some ideas about something special I can do for him while we are there. We have been to DL many times, especially since we moved to AZ. He even grew up in the area so he has been going for a long time.

He is planning something special (I think it is dinner at Napa Rose or one of the Food and Wine Festival events) for me. So I don't really want to do another special dinner for him. I already made a Kodak photobook that covers major events and vacations of our first 5 years. I thought of getting one of the family crests or history of his name thingys from the little shop by/in the castle (Castle Heraldry). That is something different and he would like it. I do know ordering something from the Castle Heraldry would take time because it's not like they have one or two of everything sitting around and they probably would ship it to my house, but I could give him a picture of what he is getting since I don't have any way to order it until we get there.

I wanted to see if anyone else had any other ideas for something special for an Anniversary at DL.

You could make reservations for a nice meal at Napa Rose, or the Blue Bayou if that floats your boat.

If you eat at Napa Rose, you could also order an anniversary cake and have it decorated in the style/colors of your wedding cake?

Haha, I should start really reading posts before I comment. The tours are a great idea! Don't forget to pick up your anniversary pin at city hall!

Since you said you don't want another meal, have you considered a tour? A ride in the Lilly Belle? I hear that the Preferred Seating for the DEP is quite nice. It's not really a meal, just boxed cheese/desserts with a glass of wine.

We have done the Walk in Walt's Footsteps tour. It was pretty cool. I almost wish we were married in the fall or winter so we could take advantage the special tours they offer then :)

Do you mean at the WCT? Where do they have the preferred seating for the EP?

The cake is another idea, I just don't know where we are having my surprise dinner ... hmmmm

Thanks for the ideas!

It isn't really romantic but I would recommend the Segway tour in CA (Cruizin' Disney's California Adventure Tour).

My husband and I did the Segway tour in Epcot during our honeymoon last year and it was the highlight of the trip. It is really fun to travel around the empty park and see/hear behind the scenes information from your tour guide.

Another idea might be to have one of the special gift baskets delivered to your hotel room. They seem to have some romantic options.

If you are adventurous you can get the bridal Mickey and Minnie ears and wear those around the park.

Congrats on the 5 year anniversary, I hope you have a wonderful trip. :tink:

My wife and I are having our 5th year anniversary at the end of this month. We've done the "Walk in Walts" tour as well and we have annual passes so we virtually go every month. The Segway Tour sounds cool, but not sure my wife would be able to do it since shes pregnant, so no rides as well.

It would be really cool if we got Dreamed and got the suite but I don't expect it.

Napa Rose restaurant sounds nice though, do you have to be a registered in the hotel to go there?

I'm pretty sure anyone can make reservations there!

Congrats on your 5th Anniversary too! :flower3: :goodvibes Our Anniversary is the 25th, we'll be there from the 24th thru the 27th.

I hadn't thought about the segway tour, that could be pretty cool. I did think about getting a brick in the esplanade, I am waiting for info back on that. I know they lay them groups at a time so I am trying to find out when the next time is. I am sure this is too short of notice to get it done by the end of the month, but I could give him a pic of it or the certificate or something ...

Congrats to both of your on your anniversary's.

Mikayla73, when you buy a brick you should also get an option to purchase a replica of your brick which can be made out of plastic or wood. We purchased a couple of bricks as gifts and especially since I wasn't sure if they would be installed when we were there I purchased the replicas for everyone.

The bricks are pretty cool, we got one for us when we got married and one for when our daughter was born.

I really want to do those bricks. that is a good idea!

They are definitly worth the price, and do get a replica. When you buy the brick what they will do is after a process time, send you a map of where your brick is going to be along with cool certificate. The bricks will be in the ground for ten years, I dont know what they do with them after that. But its really cool going to Disneyland and seeing them there and being able to show a friend.

How long did it take you to get the replica? Did you get plastic or wood? What color were they?

Thanks!

I don't remember how long it took when we got ours, but you have an option of the kind of replice. I want to say the wood one we got was $35, but that was a few years ago at least.

Unfortunately we ran into issues when we ordered our replicas and they disappeared in transit so we had ours delivered to the hotel while we were down on vacation. I ordered mine just over a month before I wanted them delivered and it should have arrived with time to spare.

I would recommend calling Disney and asking them if you can pickup your replica while you are down there (or even better if it can be delivered to your hotel). Explain that it is your anniversary and you would like to give it as a gift. Hopefully they will be able to accomodate your request.

We went with the plastic replicas, however I wish that we had gotten the wood ones. The plastic ones are clear so unless you have something directly behind it you can't read what the brick says.

I am going to search and see if I can locate some pictures of the replicas.

I have only been able to find pictures of the plexi-glass replica (which is nice but I think I might have preferred the wood)

If you search 'brick' in the Disneyland California section it will come up with a thread called 'Bricks between Disneyland & DCA'. This thread has several pictures of different peoples replicas.

Another good thread that pops up is 'I'm so excited, our DL brick order just went through'. This thread provides all of the details for the restrictions you can put on your brick (how many lines of text, etc.) as well as the contact information for ordering your brick.

Both threads should be on the first page of the search.

Lastly, another thing to think about is that you can choose the logo that is on the top of your brick. I can't remember all the choices but there were Mickey ears, wedding bells and I don't know what else.
