Anniversary help please

Ok its getting really close and I REALLY want to make this the most memorable trip for us!


A little background...

DH and I will be celebrating our 10th anniversary while were there. When we were planning our wedding we had planned on going on a Honeymoon cruise that I had earned from working with Holland America. Well my dad got really sick and passed away just 6 weeks before our wedding.
We continued on but really didnt feel like going on a Cruise at that point. We swore then that we would make the most of our 10th anniversary.

SO now here it is.. allready! How did that happen???

I just want this to be so special to try to " make up " for not going on a honeymoon. Not really make up for it... but ... well do you what I mean?

I want to show him how much I appreciate him and love him and how proud I am of him.


How can I convey all of this?

I know this is a tall order, but I know you are all so creative!

I don't quite know how you convey all that, but I think it's wonderful that you are still so in love after 10 years of marriage. Just the romantic atmosphere of Hawaii ought to offer lots of opportunities for those heart-to-heart talks that we sometimes get too busy for at home.

I hope you have a magical trip! I'm sure there are others here who have some better ideas of how to say "I'd do it all over again, honey - thanks for being in my life".

We only do gifts for one another every 5 years, so this is the year for our gifts. I know I'm getting a diamond anniversary band but he hasn't told me what he wants yet.

Now that I hear about your Hawaii trip, I'm wondering what I was thinking when I said I wanted jewelry instead of just time alone with him to relax and to be ourselves.

Why don't you buy a bottle of nice champagne for a romantic breakfast in bed one of the days of your trip? Take candles for your room for that extra mood enhancing light. For about $35, you can get a bottle of Veuve Cliquot yellow-label that is very good, crisp and fruity, or a bottle of Perrier Jouet that is in that price range, too. What better way to show you care than a romantic breakfast?

Does he like a certain kind of fancyt car? For our 1st anni I rented a Jaguar for the weekend and my DH flipped! I managed to sneak out, have my aunt drive me to the airport and park it in the driveway. You should have seen the look on his face! I rented it from Budget of all places. Why don't you look into rentals on the island. It was a fun gift and one he still talks about.

Have a WONDERFUL time, Hawaii is a magical place!
