Have not been to either but hoping to have a nice dinner for our night with just the two of us. Ambiance is (somewhat) important to me... DH probably won't care. I was also thinking maybe Bluezoo because the interior looks gorgeous but obviously that is less steak oriented. Any other suggestions too please let me know!

Nothing wrong with Yachtsman, but more steak variety at Shula's. Shula's is more a la carte, like a typical steak place, while Yachtsman has more complete entrees (that include carbs & veggies with your protein).

Ambiance at Shula's is hit-or-miss for some women - it's very football oriented. However, my wife (and many other women), still find the wood-paneled rooms befitting a steak place, and therefore, not too masculine.

Because of Disney Dining, you might find that Yachtsman has more children, and therefore, is less romantic.

Personal recommendation at Shula's - the chocolate souffle for dessert.

And if you're looking for something new - take a look at Capa inside the Four Seasons - for steak & tapas. We're more into the tapas (so I cannot review their meats), but I'm certain they have top-notch product for your enjoyment.

Oh, BlueZoo is our favorite, but if you really like steak over fish, this is not the place. But yes, it is a bit more romantic than Shula's.

Eaten at both several times, you can't go wrong whatever you choose. For an anniversary treat, I'd go with Shulas. I second the chocolate soufflé desert. Both places I have filet mignon, husband has porterhouse. Fantastic both places - hungry just thinking about it. I rate the steak better at shulas he prefers Yachtsman. I think the atmosphere is more subdued and romantic at Shulas though we've never been without our son so perhaps a bit wasted on us! You forget you're at Disney. The Yachtsman is fantastic too though. Have a lovely celebration!

We've done both and give the edge to YSH because its slightly less expensive and we feel the service is better while the food is very close.

However, for steak lovers I'd suggest a short uber ride to Bull & Bear at the Waldorf Astoria. Outstanding.

Bull & Bear over Shula's over YSH (but only by a bit, MUCH quieter at Shula's and that is important to me). The menu at Shula's is more expansive for sure.

Bluezoo though over all of those. Its very romantic - especially later in the evening.

Thank you all so much for the information everyone! Bull and Bear wasn't even on my radar I will definitely check it out. We went to Boathouse on our honeymoon and loved it! Sounds like between Shulas and Yachtsman it might be hard to go wrong... I will have DH look at the menus too.

We really really didn't like Yachtsmans found it stuffy and bland.

Shula's the steaks are massive

I'd go to the Boathouse or Flying fish

Yachtsmans not very good...frankly.

I always suggest Jiko or artists point for this type of meal. I like flying fish as well if you want that area. Shulas is good too.

I like looking at the aging steaks at Yachtsman.

I hate the footballs at Shulas, and I was sitting next to some horribly behaved children.

Since you are steak lovers, maybe peek at the prices of what you plan to order. I get the filet at both, yachtsman has a 6oz for cheaper than the 8oz at Shulas.

Also, you can't charge to your room at Shulas unless you're staying at the Swalphin.

We have only been to Yatchtsman x1, for Father's Day. We love a good steak and were really looking forward to eating here.

DH's steak was the worst he has ever had. We also had a terrible service. We really wanted to like this place, but it was an awful experience. Management did take care of us, so that was good.

You're not asking about Bull Bear, but Bull Bear is the best in the area -> Shulas -> Fly Fish (steak) -> California Grille (steak) -> Yachtsman in that order. If you really want an amazing meal, Bull Bear. Yachtsman was okay for us. Some food was great; other just okay. Service was horrible. We had a bad table (next to insanely poor behaving family, not just the kids) asked to move and they wouldn't move us even though there were other tables. It has high reviews and many love it, but I think it's a potentially volatile experience (meaning it could be great or not great) over Shulas or Bull Bear or some others that are more consistent in the great category.
