My DH, and I will be staying at the GF for our wedding anniversary in July(plus, it's our first time at this resort as well).

I was wondering if you all might have any suggestions for truly GF experiences for my DH and me during our stay?

Thanks to those of you who are so in-the-know about the GF!

Sazzo'sMommy, congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.

Since you will be guests of the Grand Floridian Resort, consider setting up a Private Dining experience either in your room or somewhere on the grounds of the resort. The Grand Floridian's Private Dining folks have always done a nice job whenever I have used them. I should note that I used them most recently during my October vacation when I dined outdoors at the swimming pool as the sun was setting and the stars were coming out. I was by myself that evening but had a lovely meal anyway. Of course, it would have been terribly romantic had my husband been with me (he was still back home on the West Coast).

Click here to view the official WDW video clip on the Grand Floridian Resort. Enjoy your first stay there. I hope it won't be your last.

There are many things that you can arrange. First of all, the Disney Florist is excellent. My DH had a dozen roses delivered for our last anniversary spent at the GF and the vase was etched with Mickey & Minnie. I think they were probably the most beautiful roses that I've ever received.

You can contact the GF bakery and they'd be happy to do a small replica of your wedding cake. They also have other speciality desserts that you can order.

Yes, there is Victoria & Alberts, but you can also arrange to do something more personal with private dining. Perhaps dinner served out on your own balcony. The theme pool closes at a certain time (8pm?) and depending on that, maybe they could put a dinner table inside one of the cabana's. Truly romantic. Or even chocolate covered strawberries and champagne served on the beach. A Wishes fireworks cruise can be booked and again, something served on board.

The spa/healthclub is delightful. You can book a treatment together, or simply use the lounges. Each has their own area with separate sauna, steam room and whirlpool.

Definitely spend an evening at Mizner's lounge in the main building. The orchestra plays there nightly and it's truly enchanting.

Hope that gives you a few ideas.

Sazzo'sMommy, I also want to note that if money is no object, you have two courses that you can take. One would involve planning a vow renewal through Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings folks (that is the route that I took last October, and it was the most incredible anniversary that I have ever experienced). The other one would involve planning a truly private dining experience with the Grand Floridian's Convention Services folks (that is the route that I took last May, and my Summerhouse event was the most wonderfully relaxing dinner that I have ever enjoyed).

Just thought I'd mention all that in case you are looking for a truly once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience. Disney's magical experiences don't get publicized much but they do exist and I can humbly tell you that they are amazing (I have posted a few of my experiences in various trip reports on the Dis' Trip Reports board).

Renting a pontoon boat is also fun. And I've heard amazing reports about renting the Grand 1 for a private cruise around the lagoon complete with dinner and fireworks! :)

I would recommend booking a lagoon view room for a romantic view of the castle and fireworks. Also there are some amazing rooms and suites in the main building with concierge services. :)

Narcoosee's can be a very romantic dining experience, as well as Citrico's.

Watching the EWP and/or fireworks from the beach is a must also. :)

Oh my, many thanks to Janet2k, TammiMcMann, and TigrLvsPooh for your wonderfully creative ideas! I plan on looking into the private dining affairs, flowers in the room, and floating along to view Wishes! WOW, you all have a wealth of knowledge!

Officer tigger, we did Victoria and Albert's for our honeymoon and have it planned for this trip too. So that was a "Grand" idea as well!

Thank you again for all of your great ideas!
Joanna :)
