Woke up at 06.30am got dressed and dropped luggage in at 07:15 at the special “Baggagerie” office located opposite (across the road) from the main reception at the Santa Fe (If noone is manning the office ask at receptiona dn someone will go across and open up for you). Then breakfast for 07:30. Got to the park for 8am and headed straight for Discoveryland, where we discovered that this place is EMPTY first thing.
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08721.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08721.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Fantasyland is heaving as everyone tends to dash to here whereas Discoveryland we were strolling onto Buzz with absolutely no queue whatsoever which is amazing if you compare that to the queues we found it usually builds up by 9!
Look no queue!!
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08722.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08722.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Then we went onto Orbitron (hubby has again never been on this despite this being his 4th trip, so as they say when in DLRP….)
After this we went to Space Mountain to try out the front of the ride-not so good at the front, you don’t see half the effects and it’s a lot slower and still painful, so decided to go round again (I was making up for lost time) and this time we rode at the back,
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08734.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08734.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
which whilst faster and you saw way more of the effects of the ride was sooooo ridiculously painful that decided to quit before I needed an army of paracetemol for the headache that was threatening.
Me after space mountain (it does things to your hair)
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08733-1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08733-1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
So left it at that and decided to go to Fantasyland did teacups (I didn’t learn the last time and me and hubby wobbled off it!)
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08724.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08724.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
then over to Peter Pan. After Peter Pan we went to Dumbo but queue was huuuuge and couldn’t see the point so we decided to head to Salon Mickey for a final visit! As we walked through the castle we saw one of the vintage cars there (bus!) Never ever ridden in one here so since I found out anyone can go on them (not jut special guests) we had said all holiday lets do it, now’s our chance….but we weren’t quite fast enough so we waited and a police wagon turned up. But from nowhere a load of people got in front of us and piled in, a family who arrived after us couldn’t get on so decided they were front of the queue despite being there after us so we just let them get on with it. Anyway so we waited and eventually a fire truck turned up but as it was another family came and went to go in front of the family that had already turned up. Fire truck gets there and initial push in family bustled on, then this other family went to and hubby absolutely put his foot down. The driver and this other family thought Paul was pushing in, the driver was trying to find out who was first and this woman was trying to say she was despite having only just turned up. Not much English was being spoken and my hubby just looked at the driver and said “premiere premiere, we line up dix minutes!!! (bless he tried) and so as cheaters never prosper we got on the truck and left the other family (there wasn’t room for them all anyway) to learn a little about waiting their turn ; ) (so be warned getting on a vehicle is a bit of a free for all) but all the same we got on and it was a lovely way to travel to Salon Mickey!
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08737.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08737.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
After refreshments we wanted to go back on Crush so headed for the studios but by the time the doors had opened and we got to it. It was still an hours wait. I joined the queue whilst Paul got RnR FPs and came back to join me. After Crush (love it) We had our photos with Sully
<a href="http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/?action=view¤t=Disney08748.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a245/0rion33/Disney08748.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

then it was time to head back to the park as we had reservations at the Blue Lagoon for 1pm. Bought our Sully pics (I showed the shop assistant how to print them off for us because he didn’t know how to use the computer?!) then we headed for our reservation.

Got a table on the beach which was wonderful, definitely a restaurant worth doing once for the atmosphere, the food isn’t particularly five star but the place was fun. We again used our halfboard vouchers and APs we were only given a standard menu to use our vouchers towards there was no special different menu for voucher holders to choose from. Loved soaking up the atmosphere (and waving to all the passing boats!) and whilst we were in there, we had a very serious discussion about moving to work there. We both realised we did not want to go home-it is home, I get shuffily about staying somewhere too long, hubby really wants to move to France I have always regretted not taking the Sleeping Beauty position I was offered there 12 years ago and as a former character performer at Alton Towers I would like to think my experience would count for something if I applied out there, if not there is always plenty of other jobs in the park. Anyway the decision we reached was we should do it. Can’t do it straight away, as have things to save for (and pay off) my 3 cats need to be prepped, would need to find somewhere to live (that accepts cats!) and we have 2 horses which may not be able to go to, which would break my heart but we just couldn’t afford to take them (although will deal with this as it happens, may find it is cheaper to keep them out there) so the plan now is we are going to do it in the next two years ideally, I will go for the next set of auditions and take it from there. (Trust your heart, let fate decide….)

After the Blue Lagoon we headed back to the studios had one last visit to Stitch Live and then onto the Stunt Show. After the stunt show we headed back to the park to catch the 5pm parade (VEA bus was at 5.55pm so were risking it slightly!) Managed to get a spot opposite Bella Notte Pizzeria as had been informed that this is where the Princess floats stopped…..and indeed they did.
Tip: here they hold the rope across the road so people can cross right up until the parade is seconds off beginning, this section of pavement is kept clear by the CMs for people crossing the road and they make everyone keep moving. If you hover by the railings (you’ll see what I mean) then as soon as they put the rope across for the parade to start you find yourself with a front seat so to speak!!!
Don’t know who these girls were but they were on the float draped with leaves to make them look conspicuous -they were english though and were sat on the float going:
“oh look over there, oh yeah, oh look that’s so and so….” And looking round pointing at stuff. They were definitely not cast members so not sure what had happened for them to get on the parade hadn’t seen this done before not on the OUAD parade anyway.

When this was over we battled the crowds through Fantasyland (here is the useful part…) and got onto the covered walkway by the Gepetto caf and we were able to walk crowd and people free all the way to the park gates (which is just as well as it took 20 minutes to get from by IASW to the bus station by the Disneyland Hotel. Boarded a bus at 5.30 and back at the hotel ten minutes later.

Grabbed our suitcases and were ready for the VEA with 10 minutes to spare phew…..(the next one after that was 18.40 our flight as 20.45). although the VEA shuttle was 20 minutes late we weren;t sure whether to panic or not then a man in a white van pulled up and said CDG? We said yes he said “ok then this is your coach” and pointed to a plain white one that had turned up, so not sure what happened there, but then 40 minutes later we were at our Terminal and ready to leave. We had an issue with Flybe making us go home via Brussels making us 2 hours late home but hey-it had been sucha great holiday this was only a minor setback.
All in all another wonderful holiday, the weather is what you would have wished for in the UK in August, it was fantastic to have a couple of days in Paris too, it was like a holiday of 2 halves-I have over 800 photos and 6 hours of video footage to sift through, the people couldn’t have been nicer everywhere, everything went according to plan and I even conquered a few personal fears and ended up having a damned good time.
Roll on August only another twelve weeks till I storm the Davy Crockett Ranch this time (getting around a bit this year) and the fact that we are driving for the first time ever so it’ll be a Disney road trip!

Roll on August only another twelve weeks till I storm the Davy Crockett Ranch this time (getting around a bit this year) and the fact that we are driving for the first time ever so it’ll be a Disney road trip!
