Hey all

We are in the home stretch only 3 more weeks!!! But I of course started having pain in my foot so I got it checked out yesterday they said I either have a partially torn achiles tendon or tarsal tunnel again which means I'm off my feet to try and heal it before the trip. They told me not to do much walking and if I do walk no weight bearing in WDW, I know we are going to be renting a wheelchair up here cause the airport is too big for me to walk. The last couple times we have gone I have been in a wheelchair but have been able to walk a little How am I going to do the parks without injuring myself even more?:confused3:confused3

Your choices are going to be a Wheelchair or an ECV for your time in the parks. You can either rent one at the parks gates or from an off site company and hav it for your entire stay. The ECV's you rent off-site are smaller and more agile than the park rentals and you have them at your disposal even at the resorts. See the FAQ's at the top of the page for a list of the off-site rental spots.

Be sure to take your crutches or walker with you. Using wheelchair or ECV is the way you will have to get around. Bring bungee cords with you to attach your crutches or walker to the wheelchair or ECV.

If I were you, I'd be looking into renting an ECV. From an outside company~an ECV you can use all of the time. Developed an injury similar to yours our last WDW trip in March. It wasn't pretty. Ended up renting an in-park ECV each day. Getting to the parks was darn uncomfortable. There were only so many steps in that leg/foot before it was DONE. If an ECV isn't an option, then do rent your own W/C, so you can use it all of the time. Don't mess with that tendon!
