I wasn't sure if you were looking for 1/2 up down dos that were vintage or not, but I found some that were. I imagined the dance marathon from Gilmore Girls and Lorelai's hair. I didn't find any good pictures but the style is called victory curls or side reverse rolls.

Just a few suggestions...
you want to make sure that you build the hair up for the styling, with finer hair you need a good extra body product and solid round brush blow dry before you even begin to do the wedding hair. Then i would recommend either a curling iron set or hot roller set and finish out with some good backcombing to hold in whatever pinning you do.
BTW...I would love to come out and help you out...all you have to do is say the word.

Yay! Another Disneyland bride! We're prolly gong to go with the Rose Court Garden as well, so I'm so excited to see what you do with it

I love your dress, and I think 1/2 up 1/2 down hair will look really nice with the style of your dress and your jewelry- even if your FSIL doesn't do it, I'm sure you can find someone who can make it look great without you stressing out too much about it

Katie and Sam: Thank you for posting the hair pics, girls!! I need any and all inspiration I can get. It stinks to be so indecisive! I've said it before, and I say it again, I'm just too grateful I've got plenty of time! Lol.

Alrighty my dears, lots of little updates but nothing huge. However, what little I've got I will share! Ordered those Mr. and Mrs. toasting glasses and the RBer pillow I posted before, yesterday.

Not sure if I had mentioned it here before, but Jason and I realized something about our beautiful cake topper; it's very wide! It's very wide, more specifically, as in we are not sure it would fit atop our mad hatter style cake. :cry: So we've been waiting to hear from our WC to see if she found out the dimensions for us. Sigh. It's been several weeks since DF emailed her, so I emailed her today. Asked her about special requests for our harpist too - seeing as I want that "River Flows in You" song for my procession. I think we're going to ask about having "Beautiful Day" played by the harpist as our recessional. Hehe.

Umm... had some drama with bridesmaids occur today, but I won't get into that! A few of my girls haven't gone in for their fittings, although a few months ago they assured me they would soon (and that never happened obviously). So I gently reminded them, and requested the dresses get ordered by about the six month mark. Maybe that's a bit early, I'm not sure? But I asked it because it'll make me relax.

I've been turning over every stone the internet has trying to find the perfect 1/2 up 1/2 down hairstyle without much luck. But I did find a few I liked quite a bit:

Edit: Ahh! One more thing! I found a fantastic website today when I was looking for hair accessories!! Not sure how the rest of the site is, but they had beautiful hair piece items that were really affordable! Here's a couple I'm interested in:

The first one is $35, and the second is only $22.75! Only problem is, I'm not sure which I like better... :

I love think both of the hair pieces are beautiful.

I want a 1/2 up 1/2 down hair style too and can't believe how many different styles there are! If you have another hair trial with a professional hairdresser they should be able to try out a few styles so you can see what particularly suits you.

Thank you! I love both of them too! And the price is right! There are so many different 1/2 up 1/2 down styles, it's just crazy! I'm needing to find a new hairstylist and then I'll be able to get it better squared away. In the meantime, I'll keep searching for different styles. Hehe.

Me too! I've decided I don't want the kind of half up half down where my ears are sticking out. I know I've got pretty earrings but I don't like my ears enough to want them on total and full display.

I just wanted to let you know about that weddingfactorydirect, just be careful because you can not return anything. I almost bought my hairpiece from them, but I just didn't want to buy something I could not return, especially when I wasn't 100%. The shipping is a bit high as well. The prices are good though. I'm not trying to be a downer, just wanted to let you know.
