I just wanted to let you know about that weddingfactorydirect, just be careful because you can not return anything. I almost bought my hairpiece from them, but I just didn't want to buy something I could not return, especially when I wasn't 100%. The shipping is a bit high as well. The prices are good though. I'm not trying to be a downer, just wanted to let you know.

Oh, well thanks for tipping me off anyway dear! I kind of figured they'd not be returnable but I'm okay with that. If they were more pricey then I'd probably be weary but since they're fairly cheap, I feel I can take a bit of a chance with it. Hehe.

I think it may disappoint the others who voted for the first one but I, like you, finally decided I preferred the second one! The reason why is because it looks more like a rose, and considering I'm getting married in a rose garden... But also because, although it's hard to see in pictures, there is some flowery things on my dress that look similar.

So in wedding news, I finally heard back from Cynthia and I got some goodies in the mail today! But I think I'll start with the best news of all - we're booking our harpist and it's going to be roughly $600-$900 cheaper than what we were anticipating! Jason and I were completely set on having a harpist for the ceremony. I never thought anything about the cost of it through Disney, or how it might be inflated. Well, I was invited to join another DFTW message board over the weekend. Let's just say, after browsing another Disneyland wedding bride's PJ and finding out the total for this Disney harpist, I happily took her recommended link to the one she was going with.

I am so so so grateful that I saw that! She said the cost was going to be $1200 through Disney. The one we're booking (he's mailing our contract tomorrow), is going to cost us around $350, give or take a bit.

So I'm jazzed about that!

Next up, I'll share the next happiest news. My ordered wedding goodies! The toasting flutes are adorable, and so so perfect for us! The pillow is cute and goes just fine with the FG baskets...

BUT...

My hair accessory I was so excited to get?

It's pretty and all, but it had this EXTRA little flower behind the main one! I opened it up, saw that and was like, "what the heck is THAT?! ". Ugh. I had a feeling it would be too big for my noggin. Now I'm uber bummed about it. As Laurie had mentioned there are no refunds/returns from that website. So now I'm stuck with it. What a waste though. It is prettier than that pic I took shows it to be, but it's just too big. I was going to have this seller on Etsy custom make an accessory similar to it, but now I'm nervous. What if I don't like that one either?? How much will she charge me? I am so disappointed and I don't want to waste any more money.

I apologize, because this is about to contain even more bummed-outness from me.

So, I got Cynthia's email today and I skim through it. She responded to my question about special requests from the harpist (obsolete now because my new harpist is already on top of it, hehe), no big deal. She says she's sending the budget with the DJ included tomorrow. This is good. Last thing I read: "The cake top is approximately 8 inches". Cue my devastation! Our topper is something like 12 inches wide.

I've been set on the mad hatter cake with our topper for a good 6 months. Now, I've not even told DF yet. I know how he feels though! I had to coax him into this cake and the theme for it already. He's going to tell me we need to get a new topper. I'm so unsure about what to do now! I don't know if I should talk to Cynthia and see if they can custom a cake for us so that it'll accommodate it, or if we should view other available options. Argh. What a pain!

I don't know if you will find a cake that has a 12" top, that sounds kinda big to me. Do the figures come off the base? Could you just put the whole thing on the cake table? Not the same I know. For the mad hatter cake they generally make some kind of edible thing for the top. Maybe they can do something NBC related from sugar.

Second i'd put that hairpiece right on craigslist, or ebay, and recoup the money, you SO could! atleast to make your money back. I had the same kind of reaction about the earrings i bought from them but hey that was the risk we took on that website.

Are there any other caketoppers with the NBC theme that would fit? you could get a new smaller one for the cake and use the one you bought for decoration on the gifts table, or on the head table. That way you can keep both the cake and the original cake opper involved in the wedding.

Now sure how its attached. With the cake topper you can use the topper somewhere else? and get another one. Or I would ask to custom the cake. Otherwise I you could put it on the table next to the cake, it won't be exactly the same, but if they have all the colors tie in, I think it will still look nice.

They do come off the base, but their legs are so thin, I know they wouldn't be able to stand on their own. It might just be better to chalk it up as one of those things that's not meant to be. Thankfully I collect NMBC stuff so it's not a total waste. Hehe.

If we can't find a different topper we like, then I might have to see what the bakery could do for us... :

Thanks hon!! We're really happy about the harpist savings for sure! That's not a half bad idea about the hair accessory. I'm just so sad because it's beautiful, but just too big. Oh well! Like you said, live and learn! Haha. At least your shoes wound up being exactly what you wanted from there!

It's so hard to find romantic NMBC anything, so probably not... that doesn't mean I'll give up yet! But, the outlook is not so good.

Thanks! The hair accessory is kept together with some sort of bendy wire stuff. So I'm thinking maybe I could snip off the part I don't want? Hopefully being able to conceal that I snipped off part of it if I do!

Oh heck yeah! I was thrilled to get such a deal on the harpist! I'm sure I'll get the cake situation figured out. I've got time yet! I'm just frustrated because I had my heart set on my original idea!

Thank you kindly, dear! The cake is already pretty crazy expensive as is, so I'm thinking it's just best if we look for another topper. As much as it pains me to admit. Lol, but also, my DF has expressed a lot of interest in the mad hatter style cake. He really doesn't want us to have to change it, because he thinks the style is perfect for us. I think it might be messed up of me if I take that one detail away from him. Haha.
