Anjanette & Jason Disneyland Hotel PJ (May 8, 2010) -- We're back! 5/15

OMG Anj!!! I love that song! I listened to the whole thing and was imagining a bride walking down the aisle to it! :lovestruc It beautiful! Good choice darlin!

I can't wait to see the pics of your hair trial!!! Have fun with your FSIL! :goodvibes

That song is beautiful...can't wait to see the hair...I will definitely have an opinion on that lol (just can't wrangle the hairdresser in me)

Hey

Sorry i havent posted in agessssssssss!!! I still have no internet at home!

Take some piccys of your hair trial if you can!

Rants and worries!
Thanks for all the support, my lovelies! Now then I must explain why I've been absent and didn't post hair piccies for you all immediately. Sigh! :guilty:

I love my FSIL, she's a sweet girl and she's been dying/cutting my hair about as long as Jason and I have been together. I'm pretty clueless about how to do my own hair fancy, but I know what I like. So she's seen many of the pics I've shared with you ladies, and she knew what I was after. So she started by curling my hair. This was all fine and well, as I do definitely want some curls!

But... I don't know if she just doesn't know how to do the pinup stuff very well, or what. I'm not sure it would've looked right on me anyway. My hair is very fine textured and hard to get volume out of. :sad2: So, she kept fussing with it and we never landed on anything I liked. So much now that I'm even reconsidering having her do it. This makes me feel extremely guilty, and a bit bridezilla-ish, but I want to make sure I like my hair on the day. If it's not right and I'm disappointed on our wedding day, I won't feel beautiful.

What do you guys think? Is it mean for me to shop around for someone else? I don't think she's ever done a bride's hair for her wedding before. :scared:

My next thing is, if I go with someone else, I need to know what I want for my hair trial right? So I guess I should try to really decide 100% on what I want just to be sure.

Still haven't received our invitation samples in the mail, AND we're waiting to hear on dimensions for our wedding cake from our WC to make sure our topper will fit. :faint:

And not at all wedding related, but I've been in attendance at the San Diego Comic Con for the past 7 years... this year DF and I tried to buy our four day passes back in March. To our surprise, they were already SOLD OUT. :sad1: So this is the only year I've missed thus far. As if that wasn't bad enough, they had a Disney 3D panel in which Tim Burton (my hero) was at to discuss his Alice in Wonderland movie!! And! There was a surprise visit from Johnny Depp! I almost cried. Lol.

It's just been one of those weeks!

I don't think you are being bridezilla-ish over this hair thing. I remember my Jr. Prom...I was sitting at the top of the steps, shoes in hand looking at my mom saying "I don't feel pretty." Looking back it's pretty funny...but if that were my wedding day...I'd be pretty PO'ed! Find someone that works for you and makes you feel beautiful. It's your day...You deserve it.

Sorry about Comic Con. That sucks.

All the little stuff will fall into place...Hakuna Matata.

Awe hun!

Dont worry! I know you had your heart on the pin up hair but is there other hairstyles you'd consider? Maybe a 1/2 up 1/2 down style? Did you FSIL try anything else on you?

No matter what you do just know that it'll look awesome with your gown and you'll look like a million bucks on your wedding day!

I don't think it's bridezilla-ish at all. You can easily let FSIL easily and explain how you want her to relax as well and that morning will be stressful and you don't want either of you to be stressed. Just let her down easy. You have every right to have someone else do your hair.

It's definitely not Bridezilla to want to look your best. I would just tell her that you want her to enjoy being a guest the day of the wedding, and that you think it would be too stressful and time consuming for her to do your hair and get ready herself. If you think she might say, "oh no, it's fine", maybe come up with some other task she can do at the last minute.

I don't think it's bridezilla-ish at all... if anything you're preventing a bridezilla moment on your wedding day by making sure that you'll be happy with your hair instead of FREAKING OUT! Maybe just tell her you've decided to get your make-up done professionally by someone else and that they said they could do your hair too- that way she can relax on the day of:rolleyes1 just a little stretch of the truth.

Thanks dear! I truly hope I'm not. The last thing I want to do is become a scary bridezilla. :scared: So thank you! I am pretty sure it will all work out fine, and thankfully I've got lots of time yet. I'm just a little OCD about having this all planned and ready to go so I can wait patiently (or impatiently) for the big day to arrive. :rotfl2:

Aw, thank you Katie!

I'm thinking about looking into more 1/2 up 1/2 down dos now. My FSIL kind of tried to play around with it a bit, but honestly, I think she felt uncomfortable. Anyhow, if you or any of the other girls happen to spy some pretty hairstyles - pass 'em my way!: I'd be much obliged! ;)

Thanks girls!! Those are really good ideas. :thumbsup2 I mean, I planned on trying to let her down easy but I was sort of at a loss as to how. So I appreciate it much! :goodvibes

I'm also relieved that none of you think I'm being a bridezilla about this! And that's an excellent point, Adelia!! I probably would be freaking out! :rotfl: So it is best if I take care of it sooner.

-------------------------------------------

So if any of you have some prettiful 1/2 up 1/2 down hairstyles to share, send 'em my way! I'm on the hunt now!

That is a very pretty song although I prefer the actual song from the film and am thinking about having that in my wedding somewhere, perhaps whilst we light our unity candles.

It sounds like your FSIL was nervous about doing your hair as well. She might be happy if you go elsewhere.

Oh Anj you are definitely NOT a Bridezilla. I think all of us have different things we worry about on our wedding day and I can totally understand that having your hair just right is important! You will look back at your pictures for many years and you want it to look just right. Don't beat yourself up

I have a few 1/2 up and 1/2 downs saved on my home computer... i'll post some when i get home from work today!

P.S. Did you see that i psoted the link to the disney tours for you in my PJ? Just wondering if that helped you at all!

Alright...I have FINALLY read your PJ. I have been meaning to for awhile! I LOVE that there is a disneyland wedding on here...really cool to see!!! I also must say that I actually died when I saw your dress. It is amazing!!!

I have noticed there are quite a few of us getting married in the next 7 to 10 months, so lots of people to countdown with

I would just tell FSIL that you don't want it to create stress between you on the wedding and try some other stylists. Wedding hair is not easy and it is not every ones forte (I love doing them, but the stylists on the other side of my station would rather shave her own head than have to do one). Good luck with figuring it out. You could always fly me out to cali for the wedding, I would do your hair for you...lol

You are NOT being a bridezilla. I am sorry that things did not go well, but you have to feel comfortable with who is doing your hair and be confident that you are going to get what you want. Just be thankful that you are not meeting your hairdresser the day of your wedding like I have to

Hair is important and completes the look, you have to have what you want. You have enough time to shop around.

Oh yeah! Well, I think that the one from the film is better suited to be Bella's Lullaby for sure! They're both beautiful songs.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing about my FSIL. I'm hoping she'll feel relief over me deciding to have someone else do it!

Thank you Mandy! You're a sweetheart! I'm glad I'm not the only bride to get crazy obsessive over some aspect of her wedding too! :lmao:

Thanks hon! I do so appreciate it! :flower3:

And I just went and found the link! Thank you, yet again! That's going to be tremendously helpful to me!

Hehe, thanks for coming over and reading!! :teeth: And thank you!!! I am sort of crazily smitten with my gown. ;) Happy to hear another approval of it though, just to make sure it actually IS as pretty as I think it is! :thumbsup2

Hooray for all of us who can countdown together!!! :woohoo:

Thanks, it's good to hear it from a hairdresser directly! I'll need all the luck I can get... and if all else fails, I just might have to fly you in to do mine! :rotfl:

Once again, it makes me feel much much better knowing you guys don't think I'm being a bridezilla about this! :goodvibes And trust me, I am thankful for that! I'm nervous enough as is! I think I'm more indecisive with my hair though. I think you and some of the other girls have a better idea of what you want, which helps! So I am grateful I have plenty of time to figure it out!
