Animal Programs Interns Unite!

Hey guys! I was just hoping to gather everyone on the boards together at least once just to identify each other and share any info we've learned about animal programs. And to talk about how excited we are to head to Florida in mid-June!

I'm going to be a Conservation Education Presenter and I'm from SC!

Also, I'm heading down apartment hunting this coming weekend with my parents so I'd be happy to post any info I find out about complexes and such on here if y'all are interested.

I'm from the Springfield, IL area... about 13 miles south of Springfield, actually, in a small town called Pawnee. Don't feel bad if you've never heard of it, very few have

I understand! I'm from the Purdue area, actually about 30 minutes north of Lafayette. I live near two small towns, but I live in the country.

The marine mammal and aquarium PI positions are very competitive and require a lot of prior experience. I applied for both positions for the Fall 2009 but received the Conservation Education Presenter position instead. Just remember to be flexible. I'm not trying to put you down, I just know from experience that it’s best to get your foot in the door and then move to the position of your desire.

Aside from that, good luck with all your future endeavors and never give up!
