Wow! 500 point holder here.

We've had our share of slight disappointments at Disney over the years.

Stained couches/love seats at OKW. Rabid attack armadillos at the SSR Treehouses (yes, the chased us to the stairs to our balcony).

But the wheels came off today at AKL villa Jambo 2-bedroom 5548-5550.

Two TV's wouldn't work. One replaced, one was unplugged. The fridge was busted (ok, not really, unplugged also), one lamp was missing the on/off switch and we had a bulb out in the kitchen area and the bathroom near the master.

Not only that, engineering spent over two hours fixing it all with us in the room in our jammies wanting to just go to sleep!

oh well, it's still Disney. All is fixed. Just hoping an Ostrich doesn't go rogue on us, learn to fly, and attack my children on the balcony.

Please take the time to email the DVC Satisfaction Team. They are under the impression that issues like this don't exist.

Thank you for taking the time to deal with the issues immediately instead of just complaining about them. Hope there is some pixie dust waiting for you in the rest of your trip.

Wow not to far from the problems we has in January! All of ours were handled very quickly and professionally so we were happy.
We had the LR tv be broken which we did not realize til we came running in the door for a Nfl playoff game. So the guys watched from a BR while it was fixed. Fridge had a leak inside, water all over the shelves. And both Ihomes did not work. On master someone left the wrong plug (bet they were puzzled over that at home!). The 2nd BR turned out it was unplugged but I had tugged on the cord and thought it was in the wall, so that was my bad!
We had a great time though!

I wonder if it's standard procedure for Mousekeeping to unplug things when they change over a room. It's happened to us enough in the past that now we always check to make sure things are plugged in before we even try them!

I am sorry about the AKV room. But I must say, the SSR TH experience sounds beyond bad. Ahh. I don't think I have seen armadillos at WDW. (Unless they are on exhibit at AK. :rotfl2:) I have seen rabbits, but that's about it. I can't even imagine what it would be like to be chased by them. That's a story for the vacation books!

I had an issue with the TV at BLT in December. Because of the wifi the tv wasnt working correctly. So they had to dismantle the wifi and reconnect the cable to the tv. But it was easy breezy.

We had one in December! Recent unplugs may be a result of the WiFi install.

I've had TVs unplugged as well. My guess is that with all of the electronics needing recharges that previous guests may be unplugging appliances not in use to gain access to the outlets.

My BIL and I saw one at VWL. :thumbsup2

After our first trip a decade ago, we just started checking to make sure everything - including the fridge - was plugged in. Not a new problem at all.

Yeah, I'm not sure why things are often unplugged at the resorts either. Once we arrived at OKW to find our kitchen floor with a huge puddle coming from the fridge. We called maintenance, and when he got up there, the only thing wrong was that someone had unplugged it, and the ice in the ice maker had melted and ran out.:rotfl: The other thing I notice more often than not is that there are either burned out or missing light bulbs. That one is a real head scratcher! One would think that housekeeping would notice that and fix it.

As for armadillos....We see them all the time on Disney property, but I've never encountered one at the resorts. We usually only see them in the ditches etc.

As slow as armadillos are, I am sorry that is just a funny image of being chased by one. :goodvibes

Sounds like a trip we had at SSR. The worst was that we complained and they didn't seem to care. After 4 days of carrying 2 double strollers up 3 flights of stairs, no working lights in the master bedroom, discusting floors ( so bad dh wouldnt let us put the kids on them) and a terrible view... I know this happens sometimes but on this stay it just added to the disapointment. It was our first and only stay at our home resort. Nothing like the tour they took us on. We were thrilled to get to back to OKW. It is our favorite place to stay. SSR left us feeling like they had our money and could care less about out complaints.

Why did you not use the elevators? :confused3

View are luck of the draw, we all get them at times. As to the lights that should have been fixed with one call and the floors could have been cleaned for you one day while out.

We were very disappointed with our stay this week at VWL . First off it smelled like a cat peed right by the door! The couch was broke. If you sat on it, it fell forward. Fridge ran none stop. There was no hot water too take a shower in the mornings-water was luke warm! Hot tub was broke. The water was hot but the jets barely bubbled

The only way to make things better is if you report the problems. I am hoping that you reported the problems while you were there.

You should also report them to Member Satisfaction. dvcmembersatisfactionteam@disneyvacationclub.com
