My family and I are going to the Animal Kingdom Resort in January 2010. It will be myself, my dh, ds (10) dd (6). Right now I have a studio Value View room in Jambo House reserved. I was wondering what the difference between Value View and Standard is. Is it just the view or also the size? If it's the size will value view be big enough for my family of 4? Also is there any chance of a Savannah View with either of these rooms? I have been very excited to stay at Animal Kingdom Resort and I want to make it as great for my kids as possible. I don't have enough points for a guaranteed Savannah room ( did an Intrawest trade this summer) so I have to take my chances with either of these rooms. I have enough to cover 2 nites and have to pay cash for the third. Value View was quoted at $206/ nite and Standard at $259/ nite. Is it worth the extra $ for Standard View( we could use the extra $53 at Boma if get Value View).

Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.:)

The Value Villas at Jambo House are smaller in size. They are approx. 3 feet shorter from the door to the back wall. The Values can be either pool, parking lot or savanna view. The Standard View Villas at Jambo House are all pool views.

My wife, 5 year old son, and 6 month old daughter were in room 5126 (Value Studio Ozuma Trail) in May 2009. It was beautiful. The difference in square footage is 365 to 316. It's really not that noticeable. This is a beautiful resort and is our favorite. Enjoy. We can't wait for our trip 09/2010.

as already stated, the "value" in value rooms is only due to the smaller size...the view can vary.

the furniture is pretty big. if you are trying to squeeze an air mattress into a value room, i don't know if you'll be able to do it.

for the cheaper price, it might be worth squeezing in, but having stayed in one by myself, i wouldn't recommend trying to fit 4. it's up to you.

I'm a complete novice on DVC topics...Are you able to request specific rooms? (I.E. Value Savannah view?) or if you go with value do you just get whatever room they assign you?

Just so you know, the view definitely doesn't come into play. I split a stay between a Standard to a Value last year, and I thought the view in my value studio was much nicer.

You have a possibility of getting a Savanah room, you save points and you get to spend more money at Boma. I say stick with what you got! Don't stress over it, UNLESS you think you will be miserable being that close to each other! But really this isn't so small that you will feel like your in a closet. Now if you think you would really like a pool view because you can go with the Standard because you will get that. The pool at AKV is beautiful.

Good luck! I think with kids that small you should be fine.
