First off: Mods not sure where to put this.. Its ATTRACTIONS so I figured what the heck..

OK I am taking SCUBA lessons (cert dives on the 14th!! Yay!!) and I get to officially dive on May 14. I have heard that there is a scuba attraction somewhere in the park, but I never really got any real info on it.

So..
Where is it? I think Animal Kingdom or Epcot.. Can't remember
Is there an age requirement? I may not meet them, yet I'll have my certification.
Does it cost anything extra? If so, how much?
If you've been on/in it, how is it? Good? OK? Bad?

Maribeth...The tour is called Dive Quest and it is at The Living Seas Pavillion in Epcot. I believe it is open to all certified divers. There is a fee for the experience, but I don't know how much...I'm guessing in the $150 range. I dive, but have never done Dive Quest....Have seen some good reviews here.

2 1/2 hour program.. and only 30 minutes of diving? for $140!!

No thanks lol

Yep, IMO, you're better off to save that $140 and apply it towards some open water dives somewhere in the Caribbean. You can get probably 2 days of 2 tank boat dives for that price.

I'd recommend Cayman Islands or Cozumel.

DH and I did Dive Quest on our honeymoon in 1996. It was a lot of fun, however your bottom time is pretty short. Keep in mind if you are a new diver however, it is not uncommon to have 30 minute dives due to air consumption. I am an Assistant Instructor, so yes, I have experience to back up that statement :)

It was a wonderful experience and when our kids are old enough (and certified of course) we will do it again.

It's been 10 years, but let me know if you have any questions.

Suzanne

Oh yes I'd rather go somewhere else :)

Even brand new, I have done more than that in the pool!
